Jimmy Butler Likely Out Multiple Weeks With MCL Injury

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Apr 18, 2024 1:40 pm

Miami Heat wing Jimmy Butler is expected to miss a few weeks due to a sprained MCL. Butler was injured during the Heat's Play-In Tournament loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.

Butler was able to complete the game, but was visibly hampered. He limped off at the end of the game and was spotted with a visible limp as he left the arena.

The Heat will host the Chicago Bulls in the final Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament game on Friday. The winner advances to play the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs, beginning on Sunday afternoon.

Brutal and he has ice in his veins.

Silver lining, now when they get eliminated they and the media will cite his injury as a reason for their ouster.

Boston was always winning that series. It'll just be easier and less painful.

Of course. If Miami had beat Philly not only would we hear that Jimmy never felt better but they'd announce that DWade found the Fountain of Youth and will also be suiting up against the Knicks.

CHI and MIA went 2-2 this season. Both teams are missing key players, but with MIA missing Rosier and Butler, I'd say it's CHI's game to lose. BOS should sweep either team.

Really, both CHI and MIA are winners; One team gets two home games of revenue, the other gets lottery balls. The real question is... who gets those lottery balls! Winning this game could move CHI back 5 picks (from 10 to 15) and would remove any chance of moving up. MIA would likely pick 14th so the cost to them is negligible. Either way, the NBA needs to disassociate making a playoff berth and the lottery. Reduce the lottery to 7 teams and have the remaining teams pick in order. As it stands, CHI has incentive to lose this game.
