2023-24 NBA MVP Finalists Announced

The NBA announced the finalists for 2023-24 Most Valuable Player. The finalists are Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.

Jokic is a two-time MVP, having been honored for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. Jokic was the MVP runner-up to Joel Embiid for the 2022-23 season.

This is the first time Doncic or Gilgeous-Alexander have been finalists for MVP.

I heard on one of the games today by JJ Reddick said hes already turned in his votes so talking about DPOY further wont matter. Everyone's already voted. These are just the top 3 in that category. Winners potentially get a ton more money, example if luka got mvp he'd qualify for super max but he already is making nba 1st team so that wont matter for him for super max but it can for other players that hit the incentives

Payton is on a good run and if this coaching staff maximizes his talent this year we'll be a team to be reckoned with.

Exactly and that brings me to an interesting observation.
We need a point guard and there are, according to the consensus here, 2 mayyyybeee 3 really good guards in the draft. Personally, I like Elfrid Payton over any of them. He's big, defensively tough and was possibly playing the best ball of his career at the end of the season, with a few big number triple doubles.

If Payton works and develops a 3 pointer, he'll be nice and ahead of the other flawed guards in this draft.

You were literally telling everyone last season Elfrid Payton still has upside someone even put it in their sig. Relax.

I mean, you can look at all the stats, roll them up and then wipe an ass with it. You know why? Because unless you're just too hard a hater, it has to be dam obvious how much better Payton is playing in the last month or so.

Now go back to your drawing board and show us a graph from December until now and without all your "homework" and with just paying attention it'll be obvious that Payton is improving.

It'll show a graph of Payton's number finishing at the rim, defensive rating and 3pt shooting for the last 3 months.



Nevertheless, Payton is not a finished product yet and unless the team moves him in a couple of weeks, I anticipate him trending upward with this coaching staff.
