Mitchell Robinson Exited Game 3 Early, Left Arena In Walking Boot

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Apr 26, 2024 12:40 pm

Mitchell Robinson exited the New York Knicks Game 3 loss at the Philadelphia 76ers at halftime with a sprained left ankle. Robinson initially stayed in the game, but was clearly hobbled by the injury. Following the game, the Knicks center was spotted leaving the arena in a walking boot.

Robinson was injured when Sixers center Joel Embiid fell to the floor when trying to draw an offensive foul. He grabbed at Robinson while falling and pulled Robinson to the floor. The play was later ruled a Flagrant 1 foul on Embiid.

Following the game, several Knicks called the play "dirty" from Embiid. New York will update Robinson's status ahead of Game 4 on Sunday.

Imagine if the roles were exactly reversed and Robinson pulled on and hurt Embiid's sore knee. He'd have gotten an F2 and probably another game

Embiid should be suspended for the next game.

Agree, and can you imagine the telenovella the 76ers would be portraying is Embid had been trreated that way?

Embiid’s grab can’t be washed away as a basketball play that went wrong. He was mad, and he intentionally went for another player’s legs, and unsurprisingly injured him. Moreover, this isn’t the first time with him.

Why do other NBA players really have to risk playing against a guy who is trying to hurt them? Do we need to see a play that ends somebody’a career?!? The NBA needs to stop protecting star players from repercussions for their intentional, dangerous acts.

That was about as dirty of a play as it gets. These are big dudes - pushing and shoving means little to them, but when someone goes for another player's legs, in a "non-basketball" way, players can get really hurt.

It's just incredible the NBA gave him a pass there, and didn't whistle that as Flagrant 2. If that's not Flagrant 2, what is? The rule exists to protect players - if the NBA isn't going to treat that act punitively, then this kind of thing will happen again. Others have said it here, but it's almost impossible to imagine the NBA treating this the same way if the players were reversed, with Robinson on the ground and Embiid being pulled down.

Danny Green's career was pretty much ended by Embiid's recklessness. A teammate

Embiid should be suspended for intentionally injury Mitch. The NBA is a complete joke not calling that a flagrant 2. Mitch was playing very well, that one play could cost them the series.

Too bad NBA has zero integrity and allows guys like him and Draymond to continue bullying and harming people with almost no repercussions EVEN IN THE PLAYOFFS. Adam Silver is trash he cares about money over player health and game integrity and that's just sad.

Also the ridiculous non flagrant call on the knee to the nuts on Hartenstein. Embiid's entire game is injuring the people that guard him the best. Only reason he hit 50 points is due to injury. That knee should have also been a flagrant 2 or at least 1 and he should have been ejected, but the NBA is biased as **** and call almost no fouls when Brunson is hacked constantly. :banghead:

I hope the Knicks target Embiid's knee tomorrow. Since NBA does nothing, it's fair game.
SELL THE TEAM, JIM!!! :curse:
