Patriots Open To Trading Out Of No. 3

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Apr 18, 2024 5:25 pm

The New England Patriots are open to trading the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NFL draft, but are also comfortable keeping the selection for a quarterback.

Eliot Wolf described trade discussions with other teams as \"ongoing\" while adding: \"We have some holes we feel like we need to fill in the draft. We\'re a draft-and-develop team; the more picks we have, the better.\"

The Patriots enter next week\'s draft with eight total selections, headlined by the No. 3 pick and selections at the top of the second (No. 34) and third (68) rounds.

Caleb Williams is expected to go No. 1 to the Chicago Bears, while the Washington Commanders are widely expected to pick Jayden Daniels at No. 2. The Patriots could consider Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy or Michael Penix Jr. at No. 3.

Why would Philly do this? Y’all have a QB so you really wanna pay that for Marvin?

I think Philly would be saving a roughly $30 million cap hit in 2026 as well in that trade (difference in salaries).

Not sure what a receiver of that caliber and cap hit does on such a bad, bad team besides get upset and want to get out of NE pronto.

The time to get AJB was the draft to pair with Brady, not NKeal effing Harry.
