I don't watch the MLS, but I watched this game, and was glad the Red Bulls won.

Well hopefully you watch a few more games in the future.

MLS Soccer is getting really good, and I think more people are catching on.

Gotta keep the winning ways up tonight. Big road game. I hope they bring that SAP button feature to Verizon Fios soon, otherwise I'll have to brush up on my spanish a bit more tonight. It's all good though. Go RBNY!!

That was a heart breaker tonight. Richards was absolutely terrible for us. Couldn't keep possession, careless turnovers. We need a win in the worst way right now.

This team needs to get its form back. They can't get anything done lately.

The Petke feelings are going to come back if it keeps going downhill.

Red Bulls are sitting just outside the Playoffs, can this game push them into the picture?

I was at the game with the daily last night. Crazy atmosphere! Big time win, but they missed so many chances.

But a sweep is a sweep!
NY is RED!

What did you think of the violence between supporters?

Never a fan of violence. But it was not at the arena, it was at a bar of "ultra" fans. City fans brought the conflict to them. They came in there talking.

At the arena I had my wife and 3 sons. There were a lot of activities for the kids, and I saw no violence at all towards city fans. It was a great environment to watch a game. The arena felt like it was shaking.

New York Red Bulls become first team to qualify for the 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs

The New York Red Bulls on Sunday became the first team to qualify for the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs, courtesy of an impressive 2-0 win over the Portland Timbers.

The win also lifted the Red Bulls to first place in the Eastern Conference and a tie with the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Supporters' Shield race. Though the Whitecaps hold the tiebreaker by virtue of having won more games, the Red Bulls have played just 28 games, one fewer than Vancouver and two fewer than the next three teams in the East. The Red Bulls now also lead MLS in points per game, with 1.71.

Six teams from each conference will qualify for the playoffs for a total of 12. The top two finishers in each conference pass straight to the Conference Semifinal stage, while the No. 3 and 4 finishers will host the No. 6 and 5 teams in a one-game Knockout Round.
