I hope Dempsey gets the min 3month ban. USSF should not tolerate this behavior whether it's the open cup or the God damn gold cup itself. I'm sick of Dempsey acting like he's bigger than the game here in the states. Put that thug in his place, USSF.

I know they won't though....why would they dare suspend captain America right before the Gold Cup....

MLS changed their rules just to get him here in a market they deemed good enough.

No way the USSF suspends him for anything other than future US Cup games. Likely banned next year, which won't really matter to anyone.

Just in time for the Gold Cup

I wonder if this is the kind of guy Klinsmann wants to call Captain.

Maybe I'm just not familiar with what Dempsey has been like, but I can't remember him ever being a problem in terms of discipline or anything. Having found it hilarious, I commend him for bringing attention to a meaningless cup, and for him showing that he cares about each game he plays no matter what league or competition :D

Now suspended an extra 6 games or two years.

I have been so focused on the Gold Cup that I didn't notice that L.A. and RSL played last night.

RSL won 1-0 and have a very good chance at the cup now. Hopefully they put all their focus into this tournament.

This is only hope at silverware this year. Wednesday can't come soon enough.

If they can get past Sporting KC I think they'll win the tournament.

In fact I think this game is like the real Finals. Whoever wins this, wins the whole thing.

I thought this too. Then I remembered we lost to a last place DC United a couple of years ago in the USOC final.

Indeed. What a total 2nd half break down. This team is broken and needs some serious re-tooling. Jeff Cassar has no business being an MLS Head coach. Can't wait to watch him screw our CCL run also.

Sporting Kansas City @ Philadelphia Union on September 30th

Forgot this was even happening. I might have gone if I remembered. Way too late now, lol. GL Union.

Pitch should be awful. Slick rain all day in Phily today, and its humid as ****.

Week late, but I was at the game (Union supporter) and it was a major let down, but overall a fantastic match to watch in person.

Le Toux's goal to put Phila ahead in the first half was incredible thanks to a picture perfect ball from Noguiera.

KC responded midway through the second half. Things got chippy between both sides and the pitch definitely began showing signs of slickness from the light rain.

Curtins decision to sub out their keeper Blake at the end of OT for the PK shootout has been challenged by football minds and fans, but there's no doubt we wouldn't have even made it to the final without McCarthys heroics in earlier rounds of the tournament.

Many Union fans were upset with the officiating, but honestly both sides benefited from iffy calls. Zusi did get an absurd amount of warnings though IIRC.

Considering the state of Philly sports, a piece of hardware would have been great, but witnessing the game was a memory I won't forget.
