It’s just so Hornets to get scammed into taking the super raw low feel player in the 2024 draft and then go the other way and get conned into taking the unathletic role player “with upside to be more” #4. It would be incredibly stupid process, in a draft where we desperately need a difference maker.

So I’m just about certain we’re going to take Knueppel and he’s going to turn out to be perfectly average, but a poor defender, and won’t be anything special whatsoever.

In order, I’d take Tre, Ace, CMB, Fears all over Kon

I was actually really warming up to him and Miller and a potentially really good wing tandem but all this new stuff coming out is just irritating to me.

I voted for Tre Johnson because there's no way in hell we'd develop Ace into a winning player. I don't love Johnson's lack of 2-way ability, but he's the best shotmaker in this class and he works hard at his craft. He also has good size, so if he develops more as a playmaker we'd really have something with him.

I really like Maluach for almost any team and CHA hasn't had a viable C since...(top of my head)...'Zo? It would take some faith in his development, but that's the kind of physical monster you can build your finesse guys around. Lamelo could use a lob threat.

They might consider a trade back for Maluach and an asset. I don't get the Fears love with Lamelo in house.

They just traded the farm for Bane. There is no build.

That trade does not put them out of reach from Detroit, Toronto and Charlotte (provided we keep LaMelo with Miller, smash our 2025 lottery pick, and start converting draft capital for upgrades). We can sell three outside firsts before we even begin to dig into our own 4 firsts available for trade.

What is wrong with you...this is an open forum. ORL has been LAL's farm team for Centers...not sure what you're talking about re: any history between ORL/CHA. I'm not in the least interested in LaMelo and, like any fan, like to investigate buy-low opportunities on guys with questions. Each team's little fortress is (usually) a good place to get outside perspectives - that's all. Relax...I'm not attacking or critiquing your team...just you.
