Carrying over from the previous Hornets thread.

Fred Whitfield on Saturday night’s festivities: "It’s going to be real exciting. It’s our first Buzz City night and we’re paying honor to the old Hornets franchise and team. Muggsy, Dell and Rex Chapman will be there and they’ll join our owner at halftime. We’ve got an unbelievable halftime presentation planned, that will unveil not just our logo, but our entire brand identity."

The Bobcats’ presence has led to the worst impact on ticket prices as the visiting team in the league, with prices dropping by 36% when they come to town

Believe it or not, we must accept that the Bobcats moniker is taint towards the casual NBA fan, which is the majority. I wasn't one that advocated the name change to the Hornets because I was hoping that they could overcome their lack of recognition with eventually winning, but I came to the realization that 'perception' could only change with a re-brand back to the Hornets nickname & logo

We get off for Holiday Leave on the 21st so I'll be stopping by Charlotte on my way home to catch my first game in a very long time. Sounds like it'll be a good one to be at.

Planning on it, I've never actually been to a game and wanted to catch one before the name-change, so this one seemed like the perfect game. Will also have socks in hand so I'll pick up some tickets for Jan 20 as well.

Season Ticket Holder so I'll be there but, this game has me really excited. I was pro name change back before it was even possible and caught a lot slack for it. I'm very excited to see everything come to fruition.

I've always been for the name change (not nearly as die hard as you), I just always HATED how people would depict on whether or not they will cheer for us over a name. It still pisses me off.

An early look at Charlotte's next logo? By Joe Kaiser | ESPN.com

When Charlotte changes its team name from the Bobcats to the Hornets next season, it will also return to its original teal-based color scheme, evoking memories of the Larry Johnson and Alonzo Morning era for many of us.

And already, one company might have given the organization a head start on what their new logo might look like.

99designs.com recently gave its global community of 265,000-plus designers the challenge of creating a new identity for the Charlotte franchise, receiving 1,139 entries in all, before trimming it down to the top eight logos for people to vote on.

While this contest is highly unofficial and not the work of the Charlotte franchise, it does give a sense of the look and feel the rebranded Hornets could put out on the court in 2014-15.

That being said, whether Charlotte ends up going with something close to one of these logos or not, it'll be hard to ever top the team's original uniform reveal of 1988.

I am going to try and go. I haven't been to a game in forever since I moved to Durham.

I'm stuck between #1064, #954, & #680. It's unofficial, but it's possible that one of those finalist could very well end up being the re-branded Charlotte Hornets logo

No, the team didn't accept any outside work. I saw a lady on twitter that tried to submit her work and was turned down from even presenting. (Her's was pretty good)

From everything I've heard- it will pretty similar to original logo but, modernized.

really excited to see what they unveil tomorrow....

Also, Bring back the Buzz (Kent Brothers) and We Beelieve (John Morgan) have something cool they are going to share after the unveil.

I'm excited too, but then again I was really excited for the draft the past two years. I'm going to be really pissed if we come out with some WNBA-esque logo.
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

#887 has a serious Sonic The Hedgehog vibe to it that I dig.
