It's as silly as Biz's tweets on steroids.

time to start thinking about a summer scavenger hunt draft.

should we stick with a retro theme again or go back to a current draft? if retro, what years? how about a particular decade, maybe 80s or 90s?

You know me, I would prefer a draft where retired players are also available. Particular decades could be fun and could add more difficulty to it.

Oh yeah, I like the first evening practice that is in the main stadium at Wofford. I used to go to the practices on the practice fields about 10 years ago and I got some autographs but not in the big stadium. If you come down be sure to go eat at The Beacon.

Double Chili Cheese A Plenty please!

Took my wife there, fiancee at the time, for her first time last fall. I told her how if you didn't order in time that they would just move on to the next person and leave you out in the cold, at least when JC was still alive. So she was a little nervous to order so she just told me to order what I get for her. I told her it was way too much food for her. She said no, I will eat it all (which for a small woman she can put down some food), so I just smiled and said OK. When they pushed our trays out she went from shock, to disbelief, to being somewhat angry that she got that much food. Oh it was wonderful.

JC was The Man!

I have never gotten anything over than a Double Chili Cheese A Plenty, I had a friend go and order something else but I just could never bring myself to do it.

what if we limit the draft to the years of 1980 to 1999?

that would allow for the top picks of:
jordan, magic, kareem, bird, dr j, moses, olajuwon, shaq, barkley, malone - that's 10 legitimate superstar franchise players

then other solid franchise players or excellent #2 guys:
robinson, ewing, pippen, king, isaiah, payton, stockton, mchale, worthy, young iverson, young duncan, young kobe

is having jordan too much of a perceived advantage in this draft? should we make him ineligible?

I remember finishing second with Jordan on my team so it definitely isn't impossible to beat him in such a draft.

Would the limit mean that the player has to be drafted between 1980 and 1999?

the 1980 to 1999 limit would apply to the year for which you will get the player.

for example, let say the category was "Attended UCLA" you could select kareem and put him in that category, but you could only pick him for one of his years from 1980 on. you couldnt have kareem in 1977. but hey, kareem in 1980 was still a mega stud.

back to jordan, the last retro draft we did was from 1976 to 2012, that gave people prime kobe, prime lebron and prime duncan to compete with prime jordan. will be much tougher to beat prime jordan if we limit the years. but i am OK with leaving jordan in the mix. either way, i am fine.

Biased votes essentially. How does a team with MVP Nash, prime Reggie Miller, prime Scottie Pippen, and Charles Barkley's MVP season at the 1-4 get no votes. With multiple 30ppg and 50/40/90 3PT shooters off the bench. Its a sham I tell you!

Yo Master Ichiro, got any Paleo tips for a n00b? I've doing this for about a month and as strictly as I can for the past 5 days and it's tricky getting fed when you live out in the sticks like I do.

Le Batard (accidentally, perhaps) leaked on his show that there will be a 5-hour 30 for 30 on OJ Simpson.

pretty much everyone could have mentioned their four best players, the accolades two of them received and claimed that they had a great team.

I remember feeling ripped for my team, especially when you could pick and ignore the injury years.

G. Payton,
P. Maravich,
L. Bird,
W. Unseld,
B. Walton,
With prime Sabonis off the bench.

This team got IT. Good mix of defence, scoring and most importantly passing/team work. Not every player wanting to be a highlight reel.

But couldn't get any love. Someone questioned whether the team was missing a go to scorer. :nonono:

I would love to see the look on Larry's face if he ever heard him described as not a "go to scorer"

when i look at youtube videos of Bird it looks like his scoring is more entertaining than anyone in the NBA today.
Jordan and Bird had the best moves of anyone i've ever seen.
notice how LeBron still hasn't got any spectacular post-up moves? :o
