I'm excited for Action Bronson, Apollo Brown & Ras Kass (finally my man Razzy Kazzy gets some dope beats to rhyme over!!!) and Prhyme (DJ Premier x Royce da 5'9")

Apollo Brown and Ras Kass should be great, very excited to see him on great beats for once! I've been listening to Clouds pretty heavily these days, but I've gotta say I'm not sure if Apollo Brown is still at the level he was during Clouds/Gas Mask and all.
Phryme should be very good too, very excited for that. I'm not much of a Action Bronson fan so I'm not expecting much as far as his album goes. His raps just sound too lazy and I can't stand his delivery. His features on Acid Rap and BetterOffDead basically ruined the songs for me. He can be OK here and there but I've never been able to listen to a whole tape of his without getting bored pretty quickly. Funny dude though, his interviews are always great.

I've been really really digging The Water[s] by Mick Jenkins as well lately:

Ras Kass still makes music thats i name i have not heard from in years and I am normally pretty update to date with my music....I love action bronsons sound and flow but his lyrics are just making things rhyme with food over and over. on a side note his vice/munchies show "**** thats Delicious" is dope.

Yeah "**** That's Delicious" is great, I've watched every episode so far, I really love the dude, he's really funny and interesting. His rapping... eh, not so much.

Yep, he does. There have been some questionable releases but they will always have a few dope tracks, while I'd even consider his 2010 album "A.D.I.D.A.S." his best work since Soul on Ice (I guess that depends on how you feel about Rassassination).

(damn, I love emcees rapping over 80s pop songs)

as for you guys not liking Bronson... I don't know, I'd say he actually has a really witty way about his wordplay and the phrases he uses. Obviously, I love the random 80s sports and film references. And, while that doesn't make him a better rapper, listening to him always improves my mood. His whole attitude of being 300lbs, yet rapping about being sexy and athletic, jumping out of a moving car to a somersault and whatnot, is both hilarious and up-lifting.

I can agree with the fact that his lyrics might not seem to make sense. But then again there are plenty of emcees who you would call great lyricists, yet if you were put on the spot and had to explain their lyrics you just wouldn't be able to. Ghostface, Kool G Rap, MF DOOM, Aesop Rock come to my mind first, per example.

the first song of Premo x Royce. it starts at about 1:12, if you don't want to watch the intro to the video.

completely unnecessarily long thoughts of mine on the song:

1) obviously, won't say anything new by wishing it was longer (this is up there with the DITC remix for Preem's beat of the year, in my book). instead they stumble upon what actually could be fun in the Premo and Royce back-to-back convo, yet don't complete it. the scratches, of course, are cool.

2) what the hell is up with Premier and the weird song titles spelling once again? do we really have to return to the "EyEnEvErPuTmY4cUsAwAy" days of The Kolexxxion (his album with Bumpy Knuckles/Freddie Foxxx a few years back)? I know that as far as the big picture is concerned it doesn't matter, but for **** sakes, they are grown men and over 40 years old. I can understand young kids doing that like Black Moon on Enta da Stage, but this....

3) I love the way the beat allows Royce to rap off-beat and extend his lines. It would be hard to even write up the lyrics for this song and correctly say where each line starts. The chemistry is great on this track for this reason. First time I heard this track I laughed out loud after the "Chris and Ryan again and we're wishing anybody who doesn't wish us well bankrupt" and "Still calling my bullets expendables coz it's hard to belive I can fit all of them boys in one clip" lines.

4) Thus I hope Royce gets creative on this album and doesn't disappoint. He can be a lot better emcee than he sometimes actually is. And, let's be fair, Bumpy was pretty mediocre on Preem's last fully produced album. I mean, it was 18 tracks of I'm the rap veteran who'll tell you what is right and wrong in this game.

^came here with posting this in mind.

I don't know what I find more unbelievable - that Radcliffe can rap like that or that a Blackalicious song was on a national TV late night show.

Speaking of Beatles covers, wow, check out this drug induced haze of a cover by Flaming Lips and a nude body stockinged Miley Cyrus that appeared on last night's Conan:

I mean, does this video raise the prospect that Miley has entered the stage of her career where she downs hallucinogens like they're coffee and has daily orgies with random passersby?

"Come on, Hank, sing that song."
I can't ever forget that day when I was in tenth grade and my older brother's friend, Steve Kurtzman, walked into the gym at basketball practice, set a boombox on the end line (we usually listened to The Clash in those days) and pushed a button. Out came Rapper's Delight, and damn, THAT was something new.

Seriously, I have heard it 100+ times and the next listen has always seemed as good as the previous one.
