There has to be more to the bouknight situation. He came off the bench and the second quarter took one shot and missed it and that's basically his only contribution in the first half. Is he nursing an injury? Is he under the weather? Is he getting punished for missing a practice?

im rewatching this swarm game... eyes on bouk to see what is going on.
1st half...
his demeanor could not be any worse. sitting at end of bench, arms folded, slumped in chair, barely watching game, no reaction when swarm score, not even when kai does something otherworldly, timeouts hes away from team, not paying attention. finally gets in game slowly jogs to shame corner on 4 straight possessions where he stands until its time to jog back on defense. swarm play maybe 6 minutes before bouk even touches the ball on offense where he hot potatoes the ball back to theo. after 8mins he finally looks to shoot. back on the bench, now hes sitting on the 2nd row at the end, might as well just sit in the locker room.

no clue what is going on, but he clearly doesnt want to be here and it shows.

2nd half
gets in game earlier this half
almost feels like he's being iced by teammates. they are even looking his way. why should they? he's not trying to get open, not looking for the ball, just endless standing in shame corner.

[kai really is gleague giannis - just so much longer more athletic - he just goes for the rim every chance]

bouk still getting iced. hasnt touched it on offense after 4 mins.
bouk finally scores, because he didnt make it back on defense and a steal by kai led to a pass to bouk all alone under basket
bouk touches in shame corner, just a half-assed pump fake, then lobs it back to top of key. hes not looking to score.
and he's out of the game after 6 mins of uninspired play

[kai best player on floor]

4th q
bouk back in, feels like he's a little more engaged. he plays these games like its the rising stars all-star game where everyone has an unwritten agreement to not try for 3.5 quarters
theo stealing all bouks thunder, feels like bouk is tad annoyed that theo is playing the lead role relegating bouk offball
BOUK with his go-to step back 3, tough shot, thats what he can do
crunchtime...
bouk just threw theo a grenade with 2 secs on shot clock lol. both guilty over overdribbling on that one
everything going thru theo right now
jesus, i know im picking on him, but bouk in lala land in transition, fails to but a body on the guy behind him. dude just waltzes past bouk for easy putback to cut lead to 2 with 3 mins left, just inexcusable effort/awareness
bouk leaves his man wide open, 3 for del
BOUK answers with a 3. lead back to 4. giveth and taketh
team ices bouk again. he wanted ball, they didnt pass. kai gets rebound though
bouk subbed off for defense with 1 min left, swarm up 4. lol. ouch. thats painful.

swarm hang on

Thanks Fats for the details and scouting of this loser. We really need to get him thrown into a trade where some sucker team takes a flyer on his sorry ass.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Kai, Bouk and Theo should all be back in action today at 3.

Hopefully whatever kept Bouk out of the starting lineup last game is resolved, whether it was nursing injury, under the weather or some form of punishment for breaking a team rule. We aren't sensing him down to swarm to sit behind crutcher, Alexander and Simmons.

struggling to understand the logic of sending guys to gleague, then bringing them off bench in limited role. both kai and bouk with limited pt off bench today.

Just want to add to the Bouk situation. I watched the first Delaware game and was stunned by Bouknight. I assumed he would go down and play selfish basketball and rack up points on poor efficiency. But he did the opposite, basically forcing the Swarm to play 4v5 on offense. I think it's starting to become an untenable situation between the Hornets and Bouk and for the sake of the team, we should look to trade him at the deadline, even if it means we only get back a second.

That's exactly what I saw. He looked like he wanted no part. Just jogged to the corner and stood for long stretches at a time. If he did touch the ball, he just passed it back. There was definitely some serious resentment happening in that game on his part. It reminded me of the time people criticized Kobe for shooting too much and to prove a point he refused to shoot for a half. That only works when youre Kobe f****** bryant.

That on top of oddly not starting him and only playing him 20 minutes in the first game and 11 minutes in the second game. Like what is happening?

Are we at the point where if they can't find a trade for him at the deadline they just cut him? Did we already guarantee his salary for next year?

I think we should start Bouk at PG this year That way he can have the ball in his hands and get a real feel of the game... Also build him up a bit and maybe trade him for a 2nd rounder. I would LOVE David Duke JR for him.

There are a couple other G leaguers I really like. Jaquorie, Mojave and London Johnson I like A LOT.

I've just come to the conclusion that he's just going to go to another team be an okay role player averaging 11 to 13 a game and he will state he was way too immature during his younger years in Charlotte to be in the NBA.

nothing he has shown basketball-wise would lead me to believe that. Monk showed more in his first two years, and A LOT more in year 3 and 4, just to become a 14ppg scorer this season and last.

I don't think he's long for this league if he doesn't improve by a massive amount between now and the end of next season. I never once felt that way about Monk.

my guess is that Bouknight came into the season believing G league is behind him and he should/would never play there again, he probably even voiced his opinion to team management, but he sucked so he's back there and now he's sulking hard.
