Bible Study Massage - The Courtney Lee Thread

Post#1 » by yosemiteben » Wed Feb 17, 2016 6:16 pm

Charlotte Hornets PR ‏@HornetsPR 4h4 hours ago
Newest @hornets Courtney Lee is expected to arrive tomorrow morning in #BuzzCity.

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell 17h17 hours ago Charlotte, NC
Cho sounded thrilled that a "D-and-3 guy" (strong defender/3-point shooter) of Lee's experience was available at trade deadline.

Hearing Hornets quite excited to land Courtney Lee, not only to fill MKG void & stay on playoff pace but also since they get his Bird Rights

Just came to post this one, I don't think any other team leaks as much random stuff to the national guys as we do.

Seems like a given that Lee will start at SG once he's in the rhythm, right? I'm excited. We haven't really had a decent two-way wing player since CDR left. Batum really hasn't been all that great on defense, and everyone else is unreliable at one end of the floor or the other.

The only reason that they would be excited by bird rights is if they mean to operate over the cap this summer. Fill up with free agents up to the cap, then go above it using the bird rights of C.Lee and Batum.

With the current CBA and the fact that every team will have money from the cap jump, S&T's enabled by bird rights aren't really likely. So the only reason to be excited by the bird rights, if indeed that leak is really a reflection of what's happening in the FO, would be if they intend to potentially exercise those bird rights and operate over the cap.

I guess MJ and Cho are going all in this summer and operating over the cap to put a competitive team together, in preparation of having a good showing before the ASG hosting duties?

Courtney Lee won't be in Charlotte until Thursday.

Clifford implies that Courtney Lee will start at SG moving Nic Batum to SF #Hornets.

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell 2m2 minutes ago
Steve Clifford says Courtney Lee will start.

Well, both PJ and Lee are 6'5" anyways, the position won't matter much

Courtney Lee's physical today kept him from practicing. Won't play Friday, Clifford said.

Just being traded here caused an injury. What a year.

That was how I read it at first too. Couldn't find a way to coordinate schedules so he could make the damn practice?

i think this is misleading. He's probably not playing because he hasn't practiced with the team yet not because he's injured

That bodes well for keeping him in the off-season.

I'm wondering how much input Cliff had into this pick up.
