Agreed with that, hard for anyone to get touches in a lineup with Lowry and DD. Also sucks for them that Sullinger is out for a while, they had pretty poor big depth as it is.

Toronto and Boston are fairly equal but the Celtics injury floor is a little higher. Toronto without Lowry...not so much.

Charlotte is a little stronger 1-8 than Toronto so I'd also give CHA better PO odds, assuming both snagged HCA advantage.

Seems like the most notable cut, yet I haven't seen much discussion about it anywhere.

@Justin_Albers
To keep Troy Williams, Memphis had to cut Jordan Adams and his guaranteed $1.465M contract. That’s how much they like him. #iubb

Oh and as I post that @ESPNSteinLine reports that Lance just made the Pelicans. They're instead cutting Alonzo Gee and his $1.2M guaranteed contract.

@WojVerticalNBA
James Young has made the Boston Celtics 15-man roster, league source tells @TheVertical.

Celtics have 16 guaranteed contracts and 1 hour to get to 15, maybe they found a taker for Hunter?

EDIT: Nevermind

@WojVerticalNBA
Sources: With Young winning job, Boston wasn't able to unload RJ Hunter for a second-round pick. Celtics had to waive Hunter today.

RJ Hunter will get scooped up very fast I would imagine. I hope we're willing to cut Harrison or Graham in order to bring him in, is possible.

Hairston got cut from the Rockets. Honestly, I'd rather have Hairston than Harrison, as crazy as that sounds.

@WojVerticalNBA
Portland is exercising the fourth-year team options on Noah Vonleh and Shabazz Napier, league source tells @TheVertical.

Found this interesting if only because we drafted these two.

Good points being made, that historically us making a move for someone like Hunter has not been the way Cho deals with the end of his roster. He seems to always lean towards vets and the familiar for those last few spots. Does this mindset change now that we have the Swarm? Maybe, but I doubt it.

I actually think that's a pretty poor point made by Mr. Coombs, given that all his examples were trades. Better examples would have been Jorge, CDR, Damien Wilkins, and Hansbrough.

I don't want Hunter because I'm not convinced that he's an NBA caliber player. He shot below 30% from three his junior year in college and hasn't shot above that if you take his NBDL and Celtics games together.

With that said, pretty much blows that the guy got cut on his birthday (his birthday is October 24, he turned 23 today).

We were linked to Hunter a bit pre-draft, if there's still interest there I'd imagine we passed on any trade opportunity because we knew we were on the short list as far as waiver-eligible teams.

The pessimistic side of myself immediately dismisses the idea after we let Troy walk in free agency. But then again, both have deals for three years (and Hunter's features team options the last two years) BUT Hunter costs less than half of Troy over that period.

Vertical Sources: Oklahoma City plans to waive Mitch McGary and Ronnie Price ($5M guaranteed), keep rookie Semaj Christon on final roster.

Wow, how the McGary have fallen **rimshot**

Confirming @JakeLFischer, the Sixers have cut Brandon Paul. He's received interest from other NBA teams, no talks of Sixers D-Lg, per source

That dude spent some time on our summer league team.
