He's worth more than #11, but that gap is nowhere close to the gap between Batum and Deng. Deng is one of the worst contracts in the NBA.

Nope, Lakers reject this without hesitation.

The Jazz were figuring out the market for Favors at the deadline this year. Any interest in moving Plumlee for Favors and a swap of our 2017 picks?

We pick Frank Jackson at 24 and then grab a big at 41.

Kemba/Jackson
Batum/Bellineli
MKG/Lamb
Kaminsky/Marvin
Favors/Zeller/#41

You couldn't ask for a better frontcourt pairing for Kaminsky than Favors. He and Cody would be interchangeable with either Marvin or Kaminsky.

The likely hangup is that I'd imagine the Jazz will want to offload Burks as well, and he doesn't have a place on our roster. We'd need to find a third team like the Nets to take him.

Can't imagine LAL turning this down. Russell's value doesn't necessarily equal 11 and CHA taking on Deng is ~ late teens, early 20's pick.

Meaning LAL is getting Batum for free - or better - which is criminal value.

I like Favors as a target, would be interested in something like this but feel like Utah needs to add more value. Favors is expiring and there's a huge gap between 11 and 24.

Isn't Favors pretty much a plodder at this point? I'm not sure about him. Undersized at center and seemed way to slow to guard PF's when I saw him this season. He did not seem well suited to going against small ball.

Yeah Favors has legit injury concerns and is really a backup 5. That said I'd give a late 1st straight up, maybe if dumping Miles a swap of 15 for 24 but not 11. In the money lotto picks never trade hands for salary dump purposes.

No.
He's been in the league for 2 years and I don't see any progress from him.

Knicks fan coming in peace just browsing trade forums to talk trades :)

Jazz also have the 30th, 42nd and 55th picks. I don't know if they do both 30 and 42 as well, but would that be enough then?

Favors, 24, and 30 for 11? I'd ask for 42 also, keep in mind Favors has been injury prone.

Those don't come close to bridging the gap between 24 and 11.

Like I said, I like Favors more than most, but he's somewhat injury prone and expiring. To get the 11, they would have to offer more IMO.

Honestly, I'm kind of intrigued with the Favors trade. I should say, Favors can definitely be a full time center, with a 9'2 standing reach compared to Cody's 8'10. Plus, he's got about 20 pounds on him and is a better shot blocker... and I think I read somewhere that Favors blks/rebs go up quite a bit when he's moved to center and Gobert sits. Anyway, he's only 25 and has averaged over 16 pts a game on a least 51% in the two seasons prior to this, which there's no one on our roster, other than Kemba, that can offer that... and we get rid of Plumlee's awful contract. If we can get more out of the deal, then great.

Building on the trade, I would just assume move the 24th pick. Mabye trade Lamb+Sessions+24 to Brooklyn for Lin? Sign a wing with the MLE (maybe someone PJ Tucker?). Yeah, we're adding two injury prone players to an already injury prone team, so it's risky. But you're getting two multi-position, two-way players that can get buckets are only 25 and 28. Plus, that's a deeeeep team.

Starters: Kemba-Batum-MKG-Frank-Favors
Bench: Lin-Marco-Tucker-Marvin-Cody

I'm not a big fan of moving out of the first round again. As a capped out team we need to be able to add cheap talent via the draft.

Thinking a bit more on a trade that might be mutually acceptable to everyone I thought that instead of sending the 11th pick to Utah in a Favors trade that it gets sent to Brooklyn instead with Lopez going to the Jazz.

We send Plumlee and the 11th pick
We get Favors and the 22nd pick

Utah sends Favors and Burks
They get Lopez

Brooklyn sends Lopez and the 22nd pick
They get Plumlee, Burks, and the 11th pick

Utah gets out of their upcoming cap nightmare and adds a player that can help them win now while keeping the 24th and 30th picks.

Brooklyn gets a serviceable replacement for Lopez and a lottery pick.

And we get a huge upgrade over Plumlee at the cost of moving down 11 spots in the draft.

If we're capped out, we don't really need cheap deals unless you're worried about staying out of the tax, so I don't agree with that argument. I could see moving the 11 for a young RFA and essentially betting that the RFA will outperform the draft pick once that draft pick hits his second contract and wanting to skip the development phase for both franchise trajectory and cap reasons.

Not saying that I think Favors is that guy to make that move on, but I could see why they'd do it.

It seems to me a MKG for Bledsoe swap makes a ton of sense for both teams.

I like Eric Beldsoe a lot as a target in trade for CHA this summer, and would probably do that trade, though I would sure prefer if PHX wanted to dump salary by taking Lamb + Sessions instead of MKG. Lots of negativity toward MKG here since he abandoned the remake of his jumper, but I liked what I saw from him the second part of this past season. He was a demon on the boards, and started taking the ball coast to coast more often. I'm not sure Cliff's offense is ever going to take advantage of MKG's court long romps, and half court dives. He'd probably look better on a team full of rampaging youth like PHX.

nah we need MKG.

I'd do Marvin+11, Plumlee+11, Marco+Sessions+11... idc but I want a starting five of Zeller/MKG/Batum/Bledsoe/Kemba with Bledsoe or Kemba leading that second unit

IDK about Bledsoe for MKG, but mostly because I'm not sure how Kemba/Bledsoe would work on the court.

I'm not convinced that the team needs MKG though. I like him as a player, but still feel like he's a bad fit for what the team is trying to do.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
