“We were impressed by Treveon’s play last season in the D-League and followed him closely during his four-year career at VCU,” said Cho. “We are excited to add someone with Treveon’s ability on both sides of the ball to our training camp roster.”

The 6-5 Graham appeared in 46 games (20 starts) for the Idaho Stampede in the NBA D-League last season, averaging 15.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 30.4 minutes per contest. He recorded four double-doubles and tallied 11 games with 20-plus points, including four games with 30-or-more. Graham most recently competed with the Utah Jazz at the 2016 Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and with the Orlando Magic at the 2016 Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer League, earning 2016 All-Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer League honors.

The Washington, D.C. native spent four seasons at Virginia Commonwealth (2011-15), where he posted career averages of 13.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 25.4 minutes per game. Graham earned consecutive All-Atlantic 10 First Team accolades in 2014-15 and 2013-14, while also being named the 2015 Atlantic 10 Tournament MVP. He was also selected to the 2013 All-Atlantic 10 Second Team as a sophomore. He left VCU ranked fifth all-time in scoring with 1,667 career points.

It's pretty crazy that he played 4 years at VCU and another season in the d-league but is still only 22. I like what I've read about him so far. I love that we're going after under the radar guys who really impressed in the summer league. If we keep at this we will strike gold eventually.

Good article about his summer league performance:

He's a big dude - at an NBDL camp this summer he checked in at 6'6" and 233 pounds. 6'10.5" wingspan.

Some DraftExpress info on him:

ORL Summer League:
Spoiler:
The Top Ten Performers at the 2016 Orlando Summer League
July 15, 2016

#3) Treveon Graham, 6'6, Shooting Guard, 22.7 years old, Orlando White, VCU

16.0 PTS, 3.4 REB, 3.2 AST, 1.2 STL, 5-13 3PT, 17-27 FT, 55.7 FG%

Graham, the second year player out of VCU who spent his rookie season with the Idaho Stampede of the D-League, showed off an improved skill set as he started five games for the eventual champion Orlando Magic White, spending time playing all over the floor. Last season in 46 games with Idaho, Graham only shot 33% from deep on 206 attempts, but he shot it with confidence in Orlando, and displayed an impressive one and two dribble pull up game as he put it on the floor attacking closeouts. Graham played on the ball a decent amount and showed the ability to get his team into sets and make decisions, but is still not an advanced ball handler at this point and can get a little out of control on drives to the basket. Graham doesn't have the flashiest game, but he is efficient, mostly plays within himself, and has some upside on the defensive end with his ability to guard multiple positions. He will definitely continue to benefit from a more consistent perimeter game which looks like it may be coming along after his performance in Orlando.

Graham joined the Utah Jazz summer league roster in Las Vegas but wasn't able to play much due to a minor hamstring injury.

D League Elite Mini Camp:

D-League Elite Mini Camp Scouting Reports

Treveon Graham

Measurements: 6' 6” (in shoes), 233 pounds, 6' 10.5” wingspan, and an 8' 7.5” standing reach

2015-16 D-League Per 40 Pace Adjusted Stats: 21.6 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.9 turnovers and 1.2 steals on 53.8 2P%, 32.9 3P% and 62.2 FT%.

After a successful four-year career at VCU, the 22-year-old Graham put together a productive rookie campaign for an Idaho team that struggled for the majority of the season. Playing both the three and the four, Graham's size at 6' 6”, length at 6' 10.5” and strong frame make him a capable small-ball four option as his game continues to develop.

Graham's jumper needs work as he's a major forward-jumper without a ton of natural touch, but he's far from a non-shooter and is very aggressive going to the rim in a straight line. He's not an advanced ball handler, but he can get low to the ground and mix in occasional spin moves. A good not great athlete, Graham struggles at times versus length, but is able to absorb contact around the rim thanks to his strong, 233-pound frame.

Although his game isn't exactly flashy, Graham knows how to play a role and doesn't play outside of himself all that often. Graham's value is stronger on the defensive end as his tools allow him to check multiple positions in a pinch while also crashing the glass aggressively. He has a high compete level and brings toughness to the floor.

Graham still has room to grow offensively, and doesn't have an ideal reach for a small-ball four, but at 22 and a half years old with strength and length he's definitely worth keeping tabs on as his game matures.

Wood also played two years at UNLV and a year in the NBA and is still only 20.

El Jornet, sadly, will need to find a new hive.

Seems like a fine signing.

So we're at 16 players now: 12 we know are guaranteed, Wood is also being reported as guaranteed, and three unguaranteed (Harrison, Tobey, and Graham).

I like that we're actually using the expanded off-season roster spots for guys with some potential, rather than just camp bodies like in year's past.

Honestly, I'd rather only have 12 or so guaranteed deals and let 8 guys compete for the final three spots instead of just handing guys like Brian Roberts guaranteed money.

I love that Gboro has finally given this team a reason to sign guys like this.
the franchise picture looks so much more complete If mgmt is going to trade draft picks and focus signings on prime vets for the A Team when they are able to sign young & promising players and give them time & place to develop.

I think there's a decent chance that Graham will grab the 15th spot on our roster. I'd like for us to bring in another wing to compete with him for that spot during training camp before we're done though.

And as I've said before we should also go after Quinn Cook as our point guard. We need to have some Triangle ACC representation on the Swarm and Cook was the d-league rookie of the year last season.

The Swarm don't and Roberts is making the minimum we could easily cut and replace him if needed.
