long term back injury, such bad news for a big dude. season outlook is bleak for mark. wouldn't be surprised if they just shut him down for the season.

They actually have an update. Still out few weeks by the looks of it. Although they keep being vague as to what kind of injury it is beyond "low back injury".

He called it a strain. Is it more than that?

" Most patients with mild or moderate lumbar strains make a full recovery and are free of symptoms within days, weeks, or possibly months. "

Seems like Mark is in the months category.

Is there any specific report, or just the ongoing listing as a “contusion”? If it is a back muscle contusion he must have ongoing complications to be out this long. One possible problem could be Myositis Ossificans. Here is the explanation:

“Young athletes who try to rehabilitate a severe contusion too quickly sometimes develop myositis ossificans. This is a condition in which bone forms in the injured muscle.
Symptoms may include mild to severe pain that does not go away and swelling at the site of the injury. Abnormal bone formation can also reduce your flexibility. Vigorous stretching exercises may make the condition worse.
Rest, ice, compression, and elevation to reduce inflammation will usually help. Gentle stretching exercises may improve flexibility. Surgery is rarely required.”

Otherwise, this should have been better weeks ago, assuming it was only a “contusion”. Hornets medical and training staff are as completely incompetent as the rest of this clown car.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

The team doctors probably accidently removed his spine and now he's just a human blob.

i hate that we actually have a really nice young core but all of them are made of the most fragile substance known to man, but the one iron man gets suspended for entire season for being enormous piece of ****

If Mark Williams has a long term back issue this team is complete toast. Given the poor record of drafting and team management by this regime, we REALLY NEEDED a hit on a pick not named LaMelo. Williams appeared on track to become a top 10 center in this league.

Cursed…truly this team is cursed.

If he has serious back issues, this is just brutal for us. We've been trying to find a C forever. And now that we have one, he breaks his back or whatever is going on with him.

We are the textbook definition of not having nice things.

So Mark is doing worse than he was a month ago.

So maybe his spine really was removed.
