Such BS. He is pretty clearly #2 and not far off 1.

I had to look this up because I was surprised and...yeah. 5th behind Wembanyama, Holmgren...Jaquez Jr....and Podziemski. sorry, not seeing that at all. they completely hand-waved Miller's huge responsibility on the offensive side of the floor to half-ass say he was not a positive defensively. meanwhile, these other players are...you know what, I'm not gonna get trolled (any more than I already have been, at least)

ESPN is where idiots go for their sports takes. This is just par for the course for them.

Brandon might come in 3rd in Rookie of the Year voting, but no way he's any lower than that.

His floor and ceiling is 3rd by any reasonable metric.

Wemby is obviously #1. Chet is #2. Miller is 3rd. And then several others are in contention for the other places.

ESPN's NBA commentary is awful across the board.

They're probably still mad that all their 'Hornets are idiots for not drafting Scoot' hot takes ended up looking really stupid. Better to pretend Miller is somehow the 5th best rookie (and they made sure to mention that's only because Lively missed so many games).

Miller probably wins ROY most seasons. This year is just unusual with a generational talent (Wemby) and another high-end prospect who is really in year 2 (Chet) ahead of him.

Welp that was a great rookie season. Pretty sure fans would unanimously agree that Brandon was the most exciting part of this year.

Getting to watch Lamelo's and Brandon's rookie runs within 3 years of each other feels like a pleasure that is very rare for this franchise.

Obviously Wemby is ROY, due to his dominance on the defensive end of the floor.
Miller was very comparable offensively due to him actually having a better EFG% than Wemby despite him being a wing vs a big.

184 threes in 74 games was essentially the 2nd best rookie three season behind Keegan Murray. Donovan Mitchell and Dame technically made more but they also played more games.

CONGRATS to Brandon Miller for being one of three finalists for NBA Rookie Of The Year!

Yes Wemby will win and should, but Miller belongs in the discussion as does the other nominee Chet Holmgren.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I agree Miller is best at the 2/3 for now, but I also don't think it is crazy to think by the time his next contract comes around that he will be playing some small ball 4 at times.

He really is a great guy to build a team around due to his shooting, versatility and size.
