He would be a great fit next to Williams.
He's a + passer
He has high BBIQ
Great size for a 4.
Does move decently for a 4 although positionally limited
Can shoot

I just don't see the need to go young and the development route for CHA. You are good 1-3 with Melo, Miller, and Bridges.
I know Bridges is a hybrid and can also play the 4, I just think Flip makes the most sense to me for CHA.

What do you think? Yay or nay?

I liked Miller a lot more for ya'll than Scoot last year.

I'd throw myself off a damn mountain if we drafted Kyle Filipowski anywhere.

Would be a throw back to the MJ-Cho era

Got it, I already figure that his lack of more than role-player upside is the quarrel here.

I mean I've watched every game of his career at Duke. I love the kid. He plays 110 percent and always gives it his all. But his lateral ability although decent in college (sometimes awful depending on the opponent) would get destroyed at the nba level. And he can't even guard armando bacot so him playing center in the NBA for long stretches would get him put in the hospital.

Filo was a massive flop last game for Duke. We shouldn’t get anywhere near him in a top 10 pick scenario. Yes he has skills but he is very weak. Get physical with him and he wilts. Edey is NOT any option for this team IMO..even trading back.

Frankly I could really enjoy trading our pick for two picks, and getting Castle and Clingan from UConn. I am really liking what Castle can add to our starting 5, and I can see Clingan being a quality reserve at the 5 or a potential replacement for Mark if his back doesn’t recover. Clingan will never be a star but his size and athleticism is far better than Edey, and would translate best the the NBA of any centers I’ve watched from this draft.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

To be fair last game that was by design. He was getting double if not triple teamed and only had 1shot attempt with like to 8 min to go in the second half just kicking it out.

Damn near backfired as well.

Cody Williams with a few buckets at the half so far. He has also missed a couple going to the rim. Got stuffed on a block by a smaller player once, dribbled into traffic and turned it over once. I have him at 3-6 with 2 turnovers.

He doesn't really look like a go to guy at this point, but he has some nice fundamentals. Nice handle for a guy his size and keeps his head up on the dribble.

He is ahead of where his brother was at this point, but that doesn't mean much. His brother had a better than average improvement from year to year every year since his freshman year in college. Is he going to have that same work ethic?

Doesn't look bad on defense, but doesn't look like a difference maker either.

while you watch that game also keep an eye on Tristan Da Silva (COL) and Oso Ighodaro (MAR) both of whom would be interesting with the Hornets' 39th pick

They both played a bigger role than Williams in this game for sure.

I feel like if you moved cody to the 2025 draft class he might not even be a top 20 pick.

Watch Stephon Castle closely tonight.

Don't watch for him to score, that's not his role. Watch his defense, watch his cuts on offense, watch him make the right play 80% of the time.

Oh I will. Even if castle scores 10 or 12 pts he won't be 0's in rebounds and assists like Williams. I would actually prefer Reed Sheppard compared to Williams at this point. I'm convinced he's going to be a scrub.

Castle was almost invisible. He's not the guy either.

Being honest I don't think there is a guy in this draft. There is a reason we all keep discussing different names every week.

If there was a #1 guy we would know it by now. I still think Castle is the best fit.

I think Holland and buzelis have the highest upside and are the most versatile athletes. I wouldn't mind going off that alone at this point.
