Makes me think we are going sf/pf with the lottery pick.

nah they wont draft for need, BPA still, but might affect any free agency.

Melo, Mann
Miller, Micic
Cody, Bertans
Miles, Grant, Poku
Mark, Richards

I'm not sure what they will do. I'd love to upgrade Cody but I'm not sure what's available. I really want Micic and Mann to stay they are very handy off the bench and pinch starting. Poku is too intriguing to let go, especially at the low cost.

Bertans depends on what we do with his contract.

Both Castle and Clingan are getting exposed so far. Clingan can't stop Edey in the post. Castle can't hit the open jumper.

This draft is gonna be crapshoot.

Castle finally hit a 3 but I'll pass on him. Easily.

Can't have a guard in the NBA that can't shoot. I could care less how good his defense is.

Edey has been the best player on the floor tonight, even with the slow start to the second half.

UConn's guards are just vastly superior to Purdue's

Their guards have always been Purdue's Achilles heel when they're outmatched. Edey was unstoppable as always (37/10 on 60% shooting). But when your PG shoots only 33% and the remainder of your entire roster can only muster 11 points collectively, you're not going to win a game..

Uconn was the better coach team as they are most nights. If you look at the sets and off ball action they run on offense it is just constant motion that is very hard to guard.

Newton and Spencer are both 5th year seniors (covid rules) and were the best players for Uconn tonight. Castle was pretty good as well making things uncomfortable for Braden Smith. Clingan was fine, he competed well but looking at the box score have to give the nod to Edey on winning the matchup.

Edey was 15/25 (60%) rest of his team was 9/29 (30%) and 1/7 from deep.

I wonder if the Jazz would trade Lauri if we win the lottery. I'd rather have Lauri even it means giving up the #1 and both the dallas and heat picks
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

Castle has terrible shooting touch inside the arc. Like really bad. He isn't going to start for any NBA team any time soon. Isaac Okoro is a good comp, Josh Hart if he eventually gets the 3 pt shot faster and at 38%

Yeah Castle is likely gonna be a Marcus Smart level role player. At his very best I can seem him reaching Jimmy Butler level numbers (without the massive playoff buffs).

Can't hate on picking Castle. Martin is already gonna be 30 soon and has concerning knee issues. I think Castle would fit in as the perfect replacement for Martin.

I know picking a destined role player with a top 5 pick isn't exciting, but this isn't an exciting draft to begin with.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

I keep coming back to Holland. I like how hard he plays, he makes things happen on the court. We need a guy like that on this team. His shooting splits aren't good, but his form is decent. If he can become at least respectable from 3 he'll be a hell of a player. I don't think anyone from this draft is starting for us next year anyway (other than maybe Sarr). So whoever we draft is going to be playing off the bench.

But picking a replacement for one of your bench players is a lot for a top 5 pick. Weak draft or not.

At least the Melo and Mark injury replacements seem to have higher potential. (Topic, Sarr etc.).

The jumpshot he made in the highlight clip posted earlier looked like it was going to be a few feet short. His shot is low and slow. He shot below 30% from 3pt in high school too, so it's not like he has previous evidence of being a good shooter either.

After MKG's shot rehab, I'm not comfortable trying it again.

New idea. Instead of picking anyone, we trade the pick for more picks.

Our pick for both New Orleans picks (currently 14 and 22).

Our pick for OKC's pick #12 and one or two of their future picks. (they own like 20 of them)

Our pick for Utah's 8th pick and one of their future picks. (own a bunch of them).

THIS!

Unless one of the 3 top foreign guys is a real gem none of the US players in the lottery seems like a top pick type of guy. With 14 and 22 you could grab a couple players in positions of need (like say Edey and a back up PG) and with the others you are banking future assets and getting another role player.
Castle is MKG #2. Holland maybe fine but plays in the LOL G league. I do not trust his numbers in that, no one cares. Sheppard is at least good at something but is not a top 3 level dude right now. Williams is a wimp. So is Dillingham. Maybe Sarr/Topic/Rissacher are the pick but if not, lets move down.

Being honest I don't see any star in this draft. Maybe someone outside the lottery develops into a star, but the projected lottery guys I just don't see anyone being a star. This is just a weak draft.

Trading down or for a future pick would be ideal. This draft is so bad the top guys are likely to be bad contracts.

Brandon Miller for example makes like 10 mil per year. A lot of these guys projected at the top would be bad contracts at that salary. This might be the first draft where you are hoping you don't land the #1. We need to start winning some more games quick!
