2024 Draft Prospects

Post#1 » by yosemiteben » Fri Jul 7, 2023 10:15 pm

Guess we should have one of these.

This is my early favorite because he obviously made up a fake last name:

I hope they draft LeBron's son just to put him in the G-League until LeBron retires

Our pick might be Kai Jones.

The guy I want is Zack Edey.

Just a gross class right now. Someone could always break out (kind of like Miller last year) but right now it looks pretty depressing. Don't think it's a stretch at all to say that at least five players from the 2023 class could have been unanimous #1 overall picks in 2024. This will certainly be a year I won't care at all if we convey that pick that we owe from the Jones trade, obviously I'm cheering for that outcome as that means we've had a successful season.

It's all about 2026.

The only guy I know I want for this team in this draft is Reece Beekman, because I wanted Mitch to draft him this year with one of our 2nds.

Bennett coached guys have proven to be excellent role players in the league. And I think Beekman is the next in line. He's a smart, disciplined, well-rounded player that can slot in next to your better guys and help you win.

Seems like this is definitely the year to make the playoffs and lose the owed pick due to Kai Jones

But none of the actions this offseason feel like a franchise gunning for the playoffs

Our actions this offseason make sense if we assume Mitch was telling the truth when a few months back he claimed he thought we would have been a playoff team (didn't he even say top 4?) if we had just been healthy. Cliff has also said similar things.

So from that perspective we added the 2nd pick in the draft to a solid playoff team, why make any moves?

I can't say I agree with our organization's opinion of itself though.

Maybe if Lamelo plays 70 games and Miles doesn't throw his wife off a roof and Hayward is healthy for 65 games. Massive if.

I'm so big on Proctor. Homer take obviously, but he's leading Duke to a title this season. He struggled bad the first 18 or so games but once they put Roach at the 2 and let him handle the point it was over. Until Tennessee happened anyway. He's bulked up a good bit as well. Big, big fan of him.

I concur, perfect timing to convey that dead weight ball and chain pick already. Also, I’m not sure we can really get anywhere with another 2-3 young players added to this roster. It’s gotta be playoffs or bust this season. If for nothing else, some damn post season experience for this roster.

I’ve been following this briefly.

He can’t get off the bench for Yale but he kills it in this tournament

Some of these names have me picturing young Ghostbusters more than NBA prospects. Bad or good?

I originally posted this reply in a locked thread, so bravor wouldn't be able to reply. Sarr has started the NBL preseason looking like a lock for a top 10 pick next year.

bravor wrote:He's a bit soft (or was in last fiba tournament) but he has some nice fundamentals as a 4/5. Badly needs to improve the dirty work stuff (boxing out, screening at the opposite, banging inside instead of throwing jumpers, learning to trigger the help defense and make the good pass etc).

I still have hopes in Batcho (who left Texas Tech for Louisiana tech of his former coach). He should be in 2024th draft

Speaking of our 'local' prospects, no words on Dent and Rocco on your side ?

he's impressing in preseason against ignite, his size and skills will get him into NBA for sure.

i see how he likes playing away from the basket but he's working hard defensively

How about his shooting? Can he really play the 4?
