Do we even have any roster spots?

Playoffs? Getting to 25 wins would feel like winning a title after how this season has gone.

I honestly think Brandon Ingram might be on the table this off-season. We already showed interest in him during the draft.

At this point I think he would be a better fit with Miller as we create our version of Tatum/Brown. 2 athletic wings who can flat out get buckets.

This also allows us to select the best available point guard in the draft possibly Topic?

Would you guys do Ball for Ingram straight up?

Nobody wants Tatum/Brown 2.0?

It's the way the league is trending. 2 athletic wings who can both score and defend. Seems the best to build a contending team. 2 best teams in the league are led by 4 dynamic wings Tatum/Brown and Kawhi/PG.

Even ignoring everything else, Ingram has played in 65 games in a season just once in his career, his rookie season. If we're trading Melo, it's not for another injury prone player.

No. Like, a resounding no.

This season has completely turned me off from Ingram. He is who is he at this point. A good wing that will not be nearly as good as he can be. 3rd option on a good team.

Hell, our Brandon is probably going to be putting up similar if not better numbers in a few seasons.

LaMelo Ball needs to start playing games. It's getting annoying he is in street clothes for most of the season.

He's a supermax player now, time to start earning that money get your ankles didn't go ask Curry what did he do to fix his ankle issues.

If not we should look to move on before it's to late and we are stuck with his contract.

That's my only issue with LaMelo.

If your goal is to move off him before he's shown that he actually can stay healthy, you're already attaching an anchor to his value.

Not my goal. Just a fan frustrated with him sitting on the bench in street clothes.

I believe in his talent. He just needs to stay healthy. Hopefully he finds a solution for his ankles sooner than later. Last thing we need is to be stuck with a Lonzo Ball situation but Melo would be much worse because of his supermax contract.

i'll be curious to see if melo plays in 1st game after break. if he's been close for few weeks, maybe they wanted to buy him that extra week of healing, pain management. if he still sits after break, that's sign that either he still has lots of pain, the healing is not going well, need to get screws out... or that franchise just does see value in melo playing games until he is 100%, not 95%, but 100, which might be next year.
personally i think melo needs games time and needs minutes with new guys and miller.
as for mark, i have zero faith he plays again this season

Mark back injury is scary. You never know with the back. Hopefully it's nothing major, but if he needs some type of surgery I would be concerned.

Ingram is whatever, he is a nice player but he is already 26 and hasn't really shown to be anything other than a guy that puts up numbers when he plays. Pelicans are loaded with talent and he still isn't really pushing them over the hill now. LaMelo is 4 full years younger than him and is just flat out better.

LaMelo and Miller are really good fits together on paper, I would want to see them for 2+ years before I start to worry about moving either one.

I don’t think you need to worry about that. I’m sure the ownership sees it the same. There is a flooding of fans that are annoyed because LaMelo has missed most of last season and this season but what they don’t really understand it this is really one injury that has lingered. I doubt he hurts his ankle this season if it didn’t have hardware in it from last. The idea of trading your best player because of ankle injuries before he’s even 23 in the same season he averaged like 34/8/5 for a 10 game stretch is insane. It’s like we see Miller and how good he will probably be and people are ready to go back to only having one star.

Let’s see what this group can do once everyone is healthy. This season was always setup to be a failure with how Mitch constructed the roster. Had he been healthy this whole time, I don’t think our win count changes all that much running guys like Ish, Bryce, Leaky and Thor major mins with a center rotation of Richards and Mensah. Had that happened, there’d be people claiming LaMelo can’t win and they’d want him traded for that instead.

Miller seems to be potentially be Ingram 2.0. Maybe even better.

So I'm not sure why he'd be a trade target regardless of age/contract/injuries.

Need to find a higher end 3/D/secondary playmaker to put at SG/SF instead.

Woj:

The Nets are rebuilding the roster around forward Mikal Bridges. They hold significant salary cap space and draft capital to build around him this summer and beyond.

Whelp, so much for that.
