I'm stupid. Someone tell me why anyone would trade anything decent for Miles when they could just sign him outright.

They'd need cap space. In a trade they could send out a contract, creating cap space that wasn't there to sign him outright.

Good to see numerous people say this about Miles.

Talented player, just not a winning player. His basketball IQ is pretty low. I'm fine with a sign n trade at this point.

A sign and trade where we get a first round pick and/or a promising player still on a rookie scale contract is the best case scenario.

Also he will want to sign with us as we can pay him more than everyone else as we retain his Bird rights.

Assuming he gets a max. I just don't see that happening

I think signing him is a solid move provided we pay him like a #3 option, which should be his role alongside Miller and LaMelo. Both of them could be prolific scorers ahead of Miles in shot attempts/touches. Both are better playmakers and handlers as well. Although right now, Miles looks like the best finisher.

Not sure I've ever seen hornets Fandom this apathetic. It's just exhausting being a fan of this team.

Hoping new front office makes sweeping changes across all areas of org. Fresh blood needed everywhere.

This current team is every bit as bad, or worse, than 7 win bobcats.

Sent from my SM-G973U using RealGM mobile app

Brings up the obvious question for me, why the **** do I barrack for this team.

Was sucked in by the Crash era, thinking Felton was going to develop into a good/great point guard.

still here . . .

i really really hope we can pull off a decent s&t with miles this summer. i really don't think he's worth a big contract
i say this, but at least need to acknowledge that he's been playing crazy minutes every night (funny how healthy guys get when a big contract is on the line). but historically, he's at least been very healthy.

how did i forget bad porn as a comparison, sums Miles up pretty well.

11 of past 16 games under 100
comically bad offense
and nsj and bailey still glued to the bench.

Glass half full says the new FO's letting Clifford be Clifford to show potential coaching hires the kind of long leash they'd get under the new regime. Wonder what that says to potential FAs.
