Re: New Coach Search Thread
I'm not going to pretend to know enough about most of the younger candidates, but hope that's the way we go. If I had to rank them based on the litte bit of data and connections to our franchise, I'd rank them:
Lee / Fernandez
Quinn
-------------------------
All Veteran former Head Coaches
Lee / Fernandez
Quinn
-------------------------
All Veteran former Head Coaches

Re: New Coach Search Thread
Lee just makes too much sense
-previous relationship with Peterson/Schnall/Plotkin in Atlanta, ownership knows him well
-Bud's right hand man in championship season
-currently on pace to make Finals with Boston
-young and former player (similar to Jeff Peterson our new GM)

Lee, Fernandez, and Quinn are all outstanding HC candidates. I hope we can land one of them.

I see Fernandez getting a lot of praise but don't know much about him. What's his claim to fame?

In addition to being an assistant in CLE during the LeBron, Kyrie and Shaq era, and then at DEN, and now associate head coach on Mike Browns staff at SAC he is from Barcelona and is the head coach of Team Canada so is thought to have a wealth of international experience for someone his age (41)

Young's reportedly the highest-paid assistant in the league, and something tells me Mat Ishbia isn't letting him walk that easily if it comes to it. New ownership signaling they're willing to make a splash ie someone's about to get paid.

Adelman (son of Rick) is also interesting. Seems the new FO's looking primarily at offensive coordinator-types.

David Aldelman runs the offense in Denver. He is known as a brilliant basketball mind. He should be getting more attention

During the infamous 2001 Carolina Panthers QB battle (Chris Weinke vs Jeff Lewis vs Dameyune Craig) Fowler jokingly claimed Dawn Staley was the best QB in Charlotte. He's obviously a big fan.

The wiretap is saying Chris Quinn and Lamar Skeeter will be in consideration for the Hornets job.

The Boston Globe is paywalled. But they usually give you one free article.
The Hornets would be wise to consider Dawn Staley as the NBA’s first female head coach

The Hornets would be wise to consider Dawn Staley as the NBA’s first female head coach
“Any team in the NBA that has an opening should consider her for the position,” former Celtics assistant and Staley colleague Jerome Allen told the Globe. “Putting gender aside, she’s a coach. She’s a teacher. Her entire disposition is about service. She’s other people centered. She’s an inspirer and she engulfs anything that an organization, pro or college, would want as a person leading a program.
“The hardest thing required of coaches, she already has. And that’s the ability to lead and inspire whether it would be young women or grown men, just people. It’s obviously playing out in real time in front of our eyes.”
The Celtics were interested in interviewing Staley a few years ago, but she chose to stay at South Carolina. The club eventually decided on Ime Udoka.
Charlotte, N.C., and Columbia, S.C., are 93 miles apart. Staley has been running the preeminent college program in the Hornets’ backyard. New Hornets ownership has to notice that and if they want to make an impact, they’ll give her an opportunity to interview, allowing her to determine whether Charlotte is the right fit for her. Staley would bring the utmost credibility and prowess to the position and after Sunday, maybe another national championship.
“It would be a phenomenal hire,” Allen said.

Fitting for a team named the hornets to sign a Skeeter as coach
