lakers and possibly suns looking for a coach
would be sad if we dragged our feet and lost one of our top two to either
redick and lebron are tight. wouldn't be crazy.
bud should be near top of list for both, if it happens

my guess on why it’s dragging is the GM wants Lee and Owners/everyone else want Redick
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

If that's the case, for better or worse you have to let the GM make the call.

My first thought JJ might be a candidate for both the Suns and Lakers job.

Wouldn't shock me at all if the Lakers came out of the blue and hired JJ.

It's official. Lakers have fired Darvin ham. Will be very curious to see if the Hornets are hungry for some ham. Also curious to see if the Lakers are interested in Lee and Redick because obviously both of those guys would choose the Lakers over the hornets.

Shams mentioned that beat possible coaches connected to the Lakers redick bud Lue and Atkinson

If the Hornets truly were interested in JJ and had him slightly ahead of Lee on there wish list and dragged their feet only to get one last interview with Lee, then ultimately lose JJ now that the Lakers job is open...1

And 0% chance JJ is going to agree to be the Hornets coach while the Lakers search is ongoing and he is one of the candidates.

Man add the Lakers to the list of the Raptors and Hornets for suckers for thinking JJ Redick is a real candidate. Let's see who else joins the sucker list.

I'd be happy for the Lakers to take JJ off our hands.

And while I agree it's unlikely he'd ever take the Hornets job over the Lakers job, I think that position in LA is a poison chalice. He's signing up to the be the last fall guy of Lebron's career. LAL aren't positioned for success in the short or long term and the expectations are totally unreasonable. In Charlotte he'd actually get a chance to breathe.

I would take Darvin Ham over JJ Redick in a heartbeat and without a second thought.

Says a lot that one of our “finalists” is out begging for more interviews. Y’all desperate to get Atkinson’d again

We’re the only job where we are begging to be amongst the coach’s finalists

It comes down to location. No way the Lakers are a better job than us moving forward.

Lebron on his last years and AD is aging and has injury issues.

If you're JJ you would be stupid to turn down the youth of the Hornets over an aging 2 year window with a aging Lakers roster.

Of course LA>Charlotte is much more opportunity off the court, but JJ is already familiar with NC so he might like NC more we shall see.

lakers will always be a more desirable job than charlotte, no matter how messed up the roster. it's the lakers.

How funny would it be if the Lakers hired a coach before Charlotte

Getting fired by LeBron doesn’t mean anything. Yall would have rejected Spoelstra for Clifford if LeBron had gotten his way

Darvin Ham seems fine, but he didn't do magical things for the Lakers by any means.

No thanks.

Dude had LeBron drawing up plays in crunch time multiple times throughout his 2 years there. That's simply unacceptable.

Shows me he's not a real leader and LeBron could do anything without consequence.

Ty Lue/Spo were one of the few HC's who had the balls to stand up to LeBron.

i think that's very realistic, just like 2 years ago.
we had to wait for lakers to pick ham so that we could move forward with the remaining candidates.
it's like day 1 of free agency, everyone waiting to see where the huge superstar signs before the 2nd tier guys get signed.
jj isn't going to agree to coach hornets as long as lakers show interest in him. that gives lee more leverage in negotiations.
my gut says we get neiher jj or lee and end up having to reopen the search. i'd like to be wrong.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
