I've been around people like Melo in the workplace and my insight on it is that they aren't ready to grow up yet. Still a kid at heart. Zion same way. While we as fans want him to grow up to help the team win, he's still in YOLO mode right now. Barely not a teenager living on his own still and enjoying the freedom that comes with it

When you sign a max contract you should be expected to have the emotional intelligence to carry yourself as a leader, including both personal and professional accountability.

The team will never grow until he does (and actually plays some basketball games)

That's a spot on comparison. The OBJ of the NBA. Melo might be an adult legally, but mentally, he is a child. Melo is a brand before he's a basketball player, in my opinion. It's kind of obvious.
