Houston defence is 5.9pts/100 better w/o Sengun. Also ntrg is better about 4.2

+1. It's hard for some people to admit it, but for context, Jalen Green is less efficient than Cam Thomas despite being part of a better team... That's not a good thing for a volume scorer (and you can't even use the age justification mumbo jumbo as they're only 4 months apart age wise).

Green looked awful in the first half, and Amen was the prospect last night that stood out to me while watching. Looking at box scores today and it seems like Jalen turned it around and went off in the second half. That is good to see from a young player, that he was able to fight through mistakes and still produce.

He didn’t produce in the second half, he carried the team.

Exactly so is kuminga the better fit with what houston is doing than sengun..a trade being them as centerpiece can make sense..

I think this is ignoring a lot of the context of Jalen's career. He played pickup ball with KPJ and Silas for two years and then spent the first half of this season learning how to be a better defender and well rounded offensive player under Ime. The scoring during the run is great but the defense, rebounding, and making the right decision is what really stands out. He's been a legit smart two way player this month which is something he's never been even when shots were falling in the past.

Thunder were double teaming at half court and threw all kinds of coverages at him. It took him a minute to figure it out but once he did they could not stop him and he took off like a rocket.

as a massive Sengun fan, don't see the rush to separate them. great to see Jalen shining and knew this hot streak when Alpie is out was gonna bring up these questions but they can continue growing together. Both so young, under a good, well disciplined coach.. sky is the limit.

Sengun attracts double teams all the time. The reason we were struggling to win so many close games was because teams started double teaming him and he had no help via shooting from the rest of the team except FVV sometimes. When teams threw single coverages at him, he would absolutely destroy his opponent every single time. What we're seeing now with Jalen is he has that same gravity, attracting double teams, the only difference between the two is Sengun is a brilliant passer who had no help, while Jalen has the ability and athleticism to beat double coverage sometimes.

If this version of Jalen is legit, then it completely changes the trajectory of this rebuild. It's going to be a pick your poison situation. Teams can't leave Sengun in single coverage. He's proven that he goes off for 30+ every time they do, but if teams now have to worry about Jalen also going off like this on the other side? Add in Jabari, Whitmore, Eason and Thomson plus Brooks and FVV? Well damn.

There is absolutely no need to consider this suggestion of choosing one or the other. If this Jalen leap is legit, Sengun is the first person that will benefit from the gravity he generates.

Theyre playing AAU with Jalen vs running sets and he doesnt have another player that NEEDS the ball so he can play freely. It's obvious they dont fit just like Ant and KAT but the team will keep them together for too long and minimize the value on both

Lazy analysis.

Let's put it this way. Cam Thomas would average 10 minutes per game under Ime.

6th men don't lead the entire NBA for @5 game stretches ahead of MVP candidates in on/off impact and Green is doing it by a wide margin.

The Rockets are a -10 per game in pt differential when Green is resting during a stretch the team is 10-1. That's insane. Literally when Green is off the court the 10-1 Rockets turn into one of the worst teams in the NBA.

6th man hot streaks simply don't provide that level of impact.

Green and Sengun can be a poor man’s Murray and Jokic. They need to learn how to make the other better. I have faith that they will.
