So, now does Rudy become their 2 by default? I thought Chandler was going to be an integral piece in possibly getting them Melo, why give it up for Rudy? :dontknow:

The Melo trade is up in the air / no guarantees.

Maybe Denver swings a deal with Jersey for young talent and draft picks and Maybe Melo takes it and signs the 3 year extention because it's 65 million.

Maybe NY offers Denver Curry/Gallo and 2 dozen first round picks (I'm exagerating a bit) and gets Melo this year.

or, maybe, Melo waits for free agency, in which case, NY could offer a resigned Chandler and a couple picks as stuff to swap for a resigned Melo.

But holding onto Chandler so you can trade him for Melo doesn't make that much sense. It also means that NY could lose Chandler for nothing.

I still have mixed feelings on this trade. I think Chandler's a versitile, valuable player.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

It would be robbery if Portland, after Rudy came out and said he never wants to play in the NBA again, traded him for a player that was better than him.

^^People makes me sick. Rudy Fernandez is an amazing player, all star caliber player. It seems like Americans think only Americans can play this sport. This guy equals Carmelo Anthony. Take a look tomorrow killing USA playing big minutes.

Portland apparently doesn't want Chandler, they want a first round pick. So, presumably it'd be Chandler to a 3rd team, the 3rd team sends the pick to Portland, Portland sends Rudy to NY.

If it happens at all, and as pointed out, this story/blog isn't very reliable.

From NY's perspective, we presumably will look to trade Chandler this off season or next year and Rudy doesn't seem like that bad a return. I'm open to this swap, but most Knick fans don't like it.

You may be going a bit too far with the Carmelo bit.

I know. Because Carmelo is a small forward. But they are pretty similar in their style. Bad defenders and extremely great shooters. Rudy Fernandez can be a sensation if he gets starter minutes in a big market like New York. Wait and See. This guy is greater than most people think.

No, Im just an unbiased basketball fan who doesnt see the passport to see a great player. This guy is an elite player who started his career in the NBA in a bad situation. Same that his countryman, Pau Gasol who would have been unknown if he never joins LA.... This guy will make an impact in New York. Mark my words.

Are you kidding me? As much as I dislike Anthony, and it's a lot, I will concede that he's probably the best pure shooter in the league. Rudy is equal to that?

I don't think so.

Did you really just say Carmelo Anthony is the best pure shooter in the league?

Steve Nash is a better pure shooter.
DIRK is a better pure shooter.
Kevin Durant is a better pure shooter.

LOL Are you serious??!?!?!?! You are making us Blazers fans look moronic.. Pau Gasol was already a 3 time all star before he went to LA. He carried Memphis to the playoffs in 3 seasons. He was the 3rd pick in the draft.. How the hell was Gasol unknown before he went to LA??

Comparing Rudy Fernandez's situation to Pau Gasol's situation is downright comical.

Gasol barely made the all star game once in Memphis. Now, he joins LA and he showed that he is one of the best big men, if not the best in the competition. Rudy Fernandez joined Portland and he couldnt play because we have a superstar SG. Rudy Fernandez is gonna be underrated all his career because he's an euro. I can see a Manu Ginobili 2 out there. Sometimes, I thought that Manu Ginobili wasnt a player so inferior against Kobe Bryant. This guy Rudy Fernandes has something special, and you could see it playing for us. Hes clutch as hell, gifted, and extremely great shooter. Imagine if the Suns keep him and he'd have played with Nash and Stat....

If Gasol never joins LA he would have been remembered as a player level Okur or something like that. Okur was 1time all star. Fernandez is one of the best shooting guards Europe has ever seen. He will make an impact like Manu Ginobili did for the San Antonio Spurs, but he'll be underrated just like Manu always was.

I'll say this though. Rudy Fernandez has the ability to put up huge numbers for Dan Tony's knicks. He'll be a huge fantasy sleeper.
