Laker fans nominate Xavier Henry. For a guard, his FT % is pathetic.

What the hell? Deandre Jordan's shooting 40% and Drummond 24%? Good God. These guys make Howard look like Nash.

He has 50 more attempts than Drummond

Drummond's first name is Andre.

That was my immediate thought too regarding that comment. But I think he means DeAndre.

I think it's perceived as 'uncool'. Although, to me personally, a dominant center who can shoot FTs is very cool.

You'd think the rick barry/granny style would be considered cool in this hipster age. I mean judging by what players wear and get away with wearing these days, you'd think anything unconventional would be considered cool.

BTW, hack a someone tactic is smart move only when someone shots below 52% from FT (so below 104 ortg - ardoun league average) and ideally it would be below 50% (so below 100 ortg).

I don't think its overblown. If a player misses double digit free throws of course there is a problem.

Math a little off. 54.3% is 1.08 points per possession.

Math is good. You made mistake, because you think FTA/2 = amount of "FT possessions". But for FTs we use *0.44, because not every trip to the line is 2 FTA.

So for example in Dwight's case he is 82/151 FTs this season, so 54.3% and 123 ortg, because 151*0.44 = 66.44 possessions.

And comparing a hack a Dwight tactic to the league average doesn't make sense. Compare it to the team they are playing on. When Houston offense has it rolling, their offensive rating probably Hovers around 110 to 115.

So his 123 ortg from FT is still much better than team ortg.

52% = 104 ortg

54% = 123 ortg?

I made the same mistake that Wasabi_Johnson did.

52% = around 117-118 ortg.
