Interesting read. I feel like the player has to be on a Western Conference team given the way he said "we played Charlotte earlier this season." It sounds like he doesn't play Charlotte often (as he would in the East) and that maybe that game was the only time he faced Charlotte this year.

Looking at the Bobcats' schedule, the only remaining games they have against Western Conference teams are vs. Houston and New Orleans. Given what he said about Chris Paul, it appears as if we can rule out the guy being on the Hornets. As another poster point out, the guy sounds like he's a defensive-minded wing who has had to guard the likes of Kobe, Wade, Lebron and Durant. He also sounds pretty intelligent. Maybe it is Shane Battier?

Also probably a guy on a middle of the pack team, because he said the refs were harsh to him earlier in the season but have softened up lately.

I'm going to say Brad Miller.

I honestly think it is Brad Miller lol..But I think the stuff he says makes sense. The kind of stuff he describes is a clear double standard in the NBA and IMO makes the game very hard to watch because it's very obvious star players get away with more

Assuming blank player didnt list anyone on his squad to throw us off his trail, and that he didnt bash his teammates/coaches he is not on the

Lakers
Cavs
Bobcats
Heat
Thunder
Hornets
Spurs

And because he talks about guards/SFs so much he probably isnt a PF or a C. So that narrows it down. I want to get the reporter who broke this story drunk as a skunk and find out who said it. It was said very well.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

If this is real, it's Most likely Ron Artest. I like Ron Ron and he is a honest talker, this looks like it may have been him, especially when describing his approach to the Refs.

Ron would definitely not have trouble mentioning Kobe, and he certainly would be T'd up for cussing at a ref. I don't think it's him though. A lot of it just doesn't sound like stuff he would say.

Sounds a lot like Shane Battier. He's really articulate, and doesn't mind talking to media guys like that.

I vote on Battier, he's the only player I can see calling a ref "sir"

"Lately, the refs have treated me and my teammates OK, but there was a point earlier this season when they were acting like they were bigger than the game."

He’s not on a team known for favorable calls

"For instance, Kevin Durant has impressed me with his ability to get a whistle at such a young age. He had 15 free throws the other night!"

Been in the leaugue for a bit.

"But the guy who gets the most calls by far is Dwyane Wade, even though he carries the ball a lot and is always falling down. The refs like his personality, I guess. He never met a ref he didn't like."

On a team that competes or has competed with the Heat. Almost makes me think of a little Dallas hate.

"Chris Paul gets away with the most talking. There have been times when I've seen him curse a ref out like, "What the f--- are you looking at you ---hole?! Learn how to call a f------ game!!" The ref will be like, "My bad, I'll get you next time." What?!! If that had been me I'd have been T'd up and thrown out. You can't curse at a ref without getting a technical or at least a stern warning. Unless you're Chris Paul, who can say whatever he wants."

After hating on CP, wade, Kobe, Lebron, I think he’s a role playing wing player who’s been around awhile, I actually think he’s more offensive than defensive minded given his complaining about fast breaks and dunking rather than d’ing up. Also think it’s someone who feels underappreciated, and is dlsliked by the refs. Focusing on Wade, makes me think it’s someone who competes with the Heat or has in the past, the articulate part is bothering me though. I’m thinking one of the following:

Tyrus Thomas
Matt Barnes
Jason Terry
Jason Richardson
Shawn Marion

my take.

Wow good read. Im thinking it could be Matt Barnes. People say Shane Battier but he has respect among the refs

Possibly a Utah player. I remember after the Bobcats game earlier in the year, our play by play guy was complaining forever after the game that Larry Brown was riding the refs incredibly hard and got tons of calls.

I really like the logic behind the Matt Barnes guess.

It doesn't sound like Artest at all, lol.

I think Barnes and Hill are solid guesses, but for some reason it sounds like Boozer to me.

I like the Barnes or Miller guesses. I could really see it being either of those guys, but Barnes makes more sense, since he's been in the spotlight guarding some of the best players, yet he isn't a star.

At what point does the NBA address this obvious officiating issue. I agree with everything this guy said. It's a problem. Refs should be young athletes with high IQ's and they need to have at least played high school bball.
