- Jazz were rested (Bulls 7 games in ECF)
- Jazz had home court
- Jazz wanted revenge

And Utah took game 1. They truly blew it in 1998

You're right and Utah was ballin! Karl Malone messed that up after Jordan stole the ball from him.

For some odd reason, Karl didn't come through versus the Bulls when needed to.

The team with the better record, home court advantage, higher point differential will almost never be an underdog.

Bulls were a solid favorite to win it. My uncle bet on this series (bet on the Lakers).

I was listening to Bill Simmons rewatchables Podcast and they were talking about game 3 from the series. I thought he said Lakers were favoured for the series but it must have just been for game 3.

The last time a Jordan’s Bulls team wasn’t favored in a series was vs. the Pistons in the 1990 ECSF.

The only time Jordan pulled an upset was vs. the Cavs in 1989 when the Cavs were a big favorite (were a +7.95 SRS team). https://www.sportsoddshistory.com/nba-playoffs-series/?y=1988-1989&o=s&fv=&hv=&fd=&rd=

Bulls were favored vs. the Suns https://www.sportsoddshistory.com/nba-playoffs-series/?y=1992-1993&o=s&fv=&hv=&fd=&rd=

They were also favored over the Knicks also without home court in that series

1995 Bulls were favored over the Magic https://www.sportsoddshistory.com/nba-playoffs-series/?y=1994-1995&o=s&fv=&hv=&fd=&rd=

Bulls in 1998 were favored over the Jazz https://www.sportsoddshistory.com/nba-playoffs-series/?y=1997-1998&o=s&fv=&hv=&fd=&rd=
