Been saying this for a while. It seems his hype came after Lamelo got injured and his scoring took a jump.

Most people forget Melo was considered the best player in that draft.

I don't think Edwards will win with KAT. Just a bad mix of 2 dudes with no leadership. If I was Minny I would be trying to trade for Dame. They have nothing to lose at this point.

I agree, the TWolves should send Edwards to the Raptors.

Seriously though, the Wolves have a player in Edwards, he is untouchable and he's young so they have time to build around him.

He needs to become a playmaker like luka, Lebron, harden to be a true superstar. Right now, he’s an upgraded devin Booker.

He's still young, so he's inconsistent. Has great stretches and poor games/stretches for Wolves.

As he develops into a better playmaker & shooter, he'll become a leader for the Wolves and Team USA. He has the right mentality.

I was at the game live - I can say that he was one of the best US players that night. I was very impressed.

Do you generally write off the NBA careers of players that just turned 22, or did you post this because you weren’t getting enough attention in your real life?

I really dislike his playmaking and defensive technique, but The guyys a pretty damn good player for someone so young. I think people are thinking of him as better than he is presently, but the potential is undeniable.

Who cares if he’s “that guy?”

Well, T-wolves fans probably… but regardless, Edwards is already good enough to be a cornerstone piece for a contending franchise, is a 22 year old on a rookie contract, and has shown steady improvement each season. His career certainly looks like it’s trending towards being “that guy”, but worse case scenario you have a top 5 SG in a position of relative dearth in the league.

Why on earth would they trade him?

Also… Whether or not he ever becomes the top guy on a true contender, calling the dude leading Team USA in FGA/game a beta is downright silly.

I didn’t like the way he played on this team. If there ever is a time where you can show a little versatility to your game and not be such a one dimensional scorer, it’s when you’re on a Team USA.

But with that said, don’t really care about his performance in this. It’s pretty clear from the start that him and Kerr had the idea of him only being a scorer.

I do like the way he plays in the NBA better and I hope he continues to become more and more well rounded. He definitely is a guy I would be fine with my team building around him. I think over the years his playmaking will improve.

Would you rather build round Hali or Edwards?

Edwards. I think when push comes to shove having an elite perimeter go to scorer is as good of a weapon to have in the playoffs as you can get. And I’d be willing to roll the dice with him that his playmaking can get to a legit enough level for him to be better overall.

With that said, I like Hali a ton and he will be extremely easy to build around. Elite playmaking and an elite shooter.

I'm not a huge fan, but his skills and physical attributes are very apparent.

He's definitely "him"

Lets say Wolves do break it up, what can you do to make the team better? Don't tell me trade them for picks, and hope the players they gets will be better, when both KAT and Edwards are top 3 picks themselves.

Bridges is not a shot creator. He has to play off Ant. Does Ant still need to learn when to attack and when to just be a ball mover? Absolutely. But this team didn’t lose because of offense with Ant being the alpha. This team lost because of team construction. They had no rebounding. None. And they relies heavily on two players that were hunted on defense in Brunson and Reaves.

Agreed, he is terrible. Trade him to Portland for Lillard ;)
