In my mind, if you swap them right now, Mavs wouldn't be contenders, with conference finals as ceiling, while OKC would be.

The winning argument is kinda lazy. Shai clearly has a way more complete team around him (especially true before the Gafford and Washington acquisitions)

Even on/off difference is likely a result of Dallas having Irving run the show when Doncic sits

Shai He was most consistent and helped the Thunder win the most games...Luka had the best performances though

Luka’s best game may be the best game we ever see- but he gonna have some odd - but good games where the points there but he objectively played bad.

Sga gonna bore you to death with consistency - consistent greatness - but I doubt he will ever go for 70- maybe even 60

Would anyone be surprised if Luka had 82?

OKC is pretty loaded with 2 way players. The Mavs built around Luka and Kyrie with defenders. Mavs depended on Luka/Kyrie to give them 60 ppg (which was their average combined) because many nights the rest of the entire team would give around 30-35 points. Luka was 1st in points 2nd in assists, 15th in rebounding. I'm not sure anyone is having to do more for their team in the NBA than Luka thus he is more valuable.

As they grow together, Shai, Williams and Chet are going to be 3 all star level players. It's hard to decide who the Mavs 3rd best player is.

I think for the conversation does come down to who’s better. And I think you’re right.

Although given the Thunder got the 1 seed it does make it a bit closer.
