I'm very interested in the moves the Rockets will make this summer.
If you had to predict the 2-3 most likely players they will attempt to trade for - who would they be?

Or they would, if they didn't owe their next 3 yrs worth of picks.

NBA definitely had its fingerprints all over this lottery. None of the 4 worse teams made it into the top 4 picks…HMMM…

They still have to build a title contender. One guy is never enough.

Wow so Rockets have two lottery picks? Good for them.

I think the #12 pick goes to OKC.

Conspiracy theory to boost Atlanta? Take off the tinfoil hat

If there is a conspiracy theory this year, it isn’t about Atlanta, it is about using a weak draft year to send a message to scare teams away from tanking. Pistons and Blazers both had terrible seasons seasons and move way down. Hawks actually tried to get in the playoffs. But at the same time, they couldn’t help but try to subtly help Spurs knowing Wemby is going to be a cash cow but needs help around him.

This was a lost season for them with the Morant suspension and then injuries to Morant, Adams, and Clarke, but they were a Top 6 team by record last season and had the #2 record in the league in 21-22, and now they have a #9 overall pick to add. It's a crapshoot in a draft like this, but if they hit on it and add a good player to a core that already consists of Morant, JJJ, Bane, Clark, and Smart, they could really bounce back next season.

Their injury filled season also helped give development minutes to GG Jackson and Vince Williams.

They could use a center now that Adams is gone. Do they have cap space?

Its also kind of crazy how the Hawks went from being a "terrible team that doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs" to being "too good" to receive the number pick 1.

You don’t have to take Sarr by any means. The popular draft boards online all start to reach a semi consensus at the end of the year because no one wants to pull a Kevin O’Connor and take a risk on declaring some player the best prospect and be wrong. But idk man I think it’s pretty unlikely that Sarr will end up being the best player in this draft, if the Hawks can identify the guy in this draft with real upside it’s a great pick to have.

Sarr is the safe pick right now because every team in the NBA can always use length and defense. But I fully expect (or hope) someone else will emerge once the combine and pre-draft stuff kicks off. This class is begging for someone to differentiate themselves.

I mean I totally get the appeal of Sarr as an athlete. But a guy who doesn’t seem to have a great feel for the game on offense (at least not yet) carries a lot of risk too

One reason why I think Sarr is rated so high is that he's different than many of the prospects in this draft. After Sarr you get small forwards and guards. The next center or power forward tends to be....Clingan?

I'm glad the Tank isn't rewarded...the Pistons should learn something here, although the really sad thing is that I don't think they're terrible on purpose.

I guess the question now is, how long until Wemby wins his first title/Pop gets #6? I think 2027 is a safe bet.
