Not what Vegas thinks

Sixers a -16 vs Kentucky? That's an pretty big point spread for an NBA team. Vegas is basically saying Kentucky has no chance.

The Sixers have a -16.4 point differential.

They're basically saying the healthy Sixers (who this thread wasn't about) are farther away from the NBA than Kentucky is from the Sixers.

But Sixers are still way ahead of Kentucky.

Not the lineup this thread was about. That team was better but not by that much.

Just curious as a Knicks fan, would you rather be in the Sixers position going forward the next 7 years or the Knicks?

i think he'll turn out to be a good 3 and d player in the future but thats not the point. I think Okafor is going to be a better player than Embiid.

The Knicks. My owner isn't cheap, my team isn't the WOAT, and for all the negatives we have at least I can respect the management (since Dolan stepped back).

A good NBA team would dominate and embarrass them. Win by 50 points. Fool around, dunks, steals, laugh.

The Sixers wouldn't be able to do that. Kentucky would make it a competitive game. Lose by 15 points.

Shved was lighting it up in Euroleague and VTB League before coming to the NBA, so there's no doubt he would have dominated college, just the same way as the rest of the Sixers.

Fair enough, but I think you're being a bit disingenuous to each teams actual positions and strategies.

Earlier in this thread, I voted "no." After watching Kentucky play 2 games, I have a different take.

The April 2015 version of this Kentucky team would give the early-November 2014 76ers a good fight, and might win 2 out of 10. I didn't realize that this Kentucky teams is, legitimately, 10 guys deep. A great college starting lineup could probably hang around against an NBA team, but the reserves would get slaughtered. I don't think that would happen with this Kentucky team. And they have the size to matchup, obviously.

Kentucky plays some serious defense.
Their bigs are very good!

Team has 6-8 1st rounders on there
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team
