Somehow he didn’t even make an attempt to try to play against the Lakers when they had the chance to win. Whatever

Do you really think that Zion is a franchise player worth building around at this point? He certainly hasn't shown it

He just had 40 and 11 in his first ever post season NBA game against Lebron and AD?

Play-in counts as postseason? I guess it’s technically post regular season or is it still a part of the regular season that dictates who gets to be a part of the postseason?

Stats in the play-in don't count.

By the end of the third quarter he had played, i believe, 32 minutes. So, this is a bit of speculation on my part but it IS odd that Zion was on the bench for several minutes of the 4th when the dude barely rested a minute prior. I have a feeling that heading into the 4th he was already experiencing some discomfort in his hamstring, and he just thought with a little more rest he could play through it... then the worst possible thing happened and it worsened.

It's not just this game, the last 11 games of the season too. They were managing his minutes and his workload very well the first 70 games. He played 59 games, averaged 30.9 minutes and 22.6 points. Than all of a sudden they bumped his minutes to 35.4 scoring 25.7 points. He went from 16.4 to 20.7 drives a game. To top it up he was already at 36.5 minutes, 40 points and 20 drives in the play in. They kinda did the same to him last season, eventually with the same result, a hamstring injury. This was very poorly managed by the Pelicans staff.

yeah, i just think for some guys you literally CANT do this... and Zion fits comfortably into that category. Body type, play style, injury history should all dictate whether or not you can push a guy's minutes way way up. they took the risk and it looks like theyre paying the price. it sucks, but its just reality.

You simply can't play with a torn muscle. It's not like a sprained ankle, because the muscle simply won't fire. CP3 pulled it off in 2015 because he has an entire facet to his game that is cerebral basketball / old man basketball. Someone like Jokic or even LBJ could do that too. Zion really doesn't have it in him to go at 30% speed and still impact the game in a positive way.

And, given his injury history, playing through that injury just would have led to some klay thompson hamstring trajectory where he ends up sitting out next season.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

I mean he seemed to know right away that something happened with his hamstring and it just isn't wise to push it and risk worsening whatever you just injured so I get it.

Also he was lights out to that point, it's not his fault the rest of the team couldn't come through and close it out. He did everything he could to help them win that game, short of harming his career possibly.
