Breaking News

apparentally it has been reported that Juice Mayo was playing with a lacerated shooting hand that he injured by falling down a flight of stairs before the Barcelona game, so explains his shooting performance.

Playing through injuries i see, let's commend him instead of trying to look down upon him.

Warrior. that Juice Mayo.

6th or 7th seed at best. Teams had to much success in the last decade or so for me to discount them.

Unless dirk has to have surgery and misses significant time, I'm fairly confident they make the playoffs. They were able to pick up the pieces pretty well after going all in for the big name FAs.

Carlisle's role in getting the most out of a talent like mayo shouldn't be overlooked. I expect him to be a solid replacement for terry, albeit obviously not as smart of a player. I think they're missing that defensive minded center to back up kaman, but overall have enough talent to push through to the playoffs.

It all comes down to dirk, as usual. Plenty of players had off years during the lockout shortened season. If he doesn't get healthy, then yeah, they're in serious trouble. Let's not underestimate how good he still is, though.

how I see West
1. THUNDER - obvious top 2 team in west
2. LAKERS - same, but won't be as great as some think. Need better shooters and athleticism
3. CLIPPERS - great depth now, key is growth from Jordan. Love Bledsoe as M.I.P darkhorse
4. WOLVES - If they can stay above or near .500 until Rubio returns, this is a potential contender. A lot of "ifs" but having Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic, Rubio, Kirilenko, Brandon Roy (looks great so far!), Sexy Alexey Shved, Chase Budinger, Dante Cunningham, Luke Ridnour, JJ Barea and Derrick Williams.
5. NUGGETS - need shooters and low-post scoring. Transistion game will be lethal and wings are insanely deep and versatile, but those easy buckets Nuggets get in regular season dry up in slower playoff games.
6. GRIZZLIES - Will be in mix for homecourt, but lack perimeter scoring and shooting. Depth is also a huge concern for Memphis.
7. SPURS - This is the year that the Spurs show their age. Ginobili and Duncan nearing end. Only sure things are Parker (maybe not w/ new glasses) and Leonard. Splitter, Blair, rest of bench mob won't be enough this year in this Western Conference.
8. WARRIORS - With Curry, Thompson and Barnes gunning on perimter and Bogut and Lee on the block, the Dubs will make a run after a slow start. Still a year or two away and need perimeter toughness and some time to gel as a team.
================
9. MAVS - Dirk needs more help and Kaman/Mayo/Brand/Collison won't get it done in ridiculous West. Kaman and Brand are defficient in the areas Mavs need in bigs next to Dirk: athleticism and defense. Mayo is a remorseless chucker who occasionally plays hard enough on D to convince people he isn't just a young JamalCrawford. Collison is a 6th man ideally who struggles to run an offense. Will need one of their young combo guards or a big (Wright or Bernard James) to have breakout year.
10. JAZZ - Will never do anything real with current group. MUST move one or two of their bigs. When your fans are saying that offseason additions of Randy Foye, Mo Williams and Marvin Williams are big improvements, you know something isn't write. Trade Jefferson and Millsap for young wings and picks and build around Favors, Kanter, Burks, Hayward.

They would still win around 38 or so games. Their supporting cast isn't bad enough to get into top pick territory. Plus, I very seriously doubt Dirk would accept sitting out when he could be playing at this point in his career, he isn't exactly young.

38 games minus Dirk? The talent on the team is not that good.

OJ Msyo looking like a franchise player, its awesome seeing him be " The Man" that's all i have ever asked. Let him be the man and lets seee what happens. I'm bout to shed a few tears, He has patiently waited 4 seasons for this.

Its not who starts the race its who finishes it. Juice the most talented SG 25 and under in the NBA and its not really that close

Congrats. He's scoring against an incredibly undisciplined team that is making no effort in the transition D, and he's being guarded by Martin.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

Maybe he could try playing defense so Kevin Martin doesn't look like a Superstar

Juice would have done the same thing against any team ( and will do the same thing this season). He going to be due for some 40/50 point games this year. Such an explosive scorer. . Its pretty clear ( taking all 3 preseason games into account) that his ball handling has tremendously improved in terms of doing isolation/pick roll moves. He has improved his quickness.first step which is shocking at him being 24 years old, which has really allowed him to get into the paint more than ever before, and to the free throw line.

He isreally dynamic. He can take it to the rim, play in the pick n roll , create his own shot, make a play for his teammates, has legit 3 point range, athletic,

He will be a daily 20+ppg 5+apg guy this season. Especilaly now that he is the number 1 option (feels good to say).

A list of players who did 20 + / 5 apg last season

LeBron James 27/7
Kobe Bryant 28/5
Derrick Rose 22/8
Russell Westbrook 24/6
Chris Paul 20/9
Dwyane Wade 22/5
Deron Williams 21/9

He really is that talented, so it doesn't surprise me he will be mentioned in such company.

Damn looks like brother redz is still suffering from his demons

Dude can't seem to get better. Seems he was upset over a game. Same thing happened in CLE

DALLAS -- Dallas Mavericks guard Delonte West has been suspended for conduct detrimental to the team, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said.

Carlisle did not specify a timetable for West's suspension.
Stop being so disrespectful.

A fifty point game from Mayo might be more harmful than beneficial to the team. It might cause his ego to be inflated. Better for him to just have a solid season.

alot of it came off transition. Mayo had trouble guarding Martin at times, but Martin hit shots being closed out.

It wasn't as if Kevin martin was going iso all night and destroying marion/mayo.
