Who could Eddy Curry fetch in a salary dump?`

Post#1 » by BowlRips » Fri May 14, 2010 2:29 pm

I think a huge factor on whether Lebron signs with the Knicks is whether the Knicks will be able to trade Eddy Curry for a decent player. It would be a big risk by NY to make that type of deal during the draft but if you really wanna get Lebron u gotta do it. So who can they fetch? Monta Ellis? Emeka Okafor?

I could see a sign in trade type deal involving Al Harrington, Chris Duhon and Eddy Curry for Raymond Felton, Tyson Chandler and Nazr Mohammed with the Bobcats.

of course this is one of many scenerios but Larry Brown likes Curry alot and wants to develop Augustin.

Thats not bad. I was thinking of the pistons. Either Ben Gordan or Rip Hamilton straight up for Curry. Would give the Knicks a solid 3rd/4th option if they were able to add Bosh/Amare and LBJ

If the Jazz decide to rebuild I could see Okur a possibility.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Yup, expirings players that suck don't have that much value. The best you will get from his is a decent player with an awful contract.

Wasn't Z and JJ Hickson going to get Amare? How quickly people forget.

On his own? Not much, unless the other team really wants to get rid of the guy. The Knicks would have to add something of actual value to get a guy like Monta Ellis...but the problem is that after the Jefferies trade last year they don't have a lot of value to add outside of Gallinari, and to a lesser extent Wilson Chandler. Add one of those guys in and the picture gets a bit brighter.

Keep in mind that trading a good player for Eddy Curry is to a certain extent giving up on the season. Not many teams do that before the season even starts...so if the Knicks want to do this in time to court LeBron they'll have to do some sweet talking.

^ That list is a bit optimistic.

Baron and Rip, yes. Iggy, Ellis and Gordon, probably not.

Clippers most likely wouldn't give up Baron for Curry straight up, but if they do make a move and get themselves a legit point guard to replace Baron, it could be a possibility.

There is no way you come close to getting Iguodala for Eddy Curry.
