oh no instead of 130 million they get 110, how will they make ends meet?

I could never say that about KG. Even though he is a great player. In some way even in his prime he is Joakim Noah with a jump shot and a little better post game. Outside of that they have the exact same skill set.

They're still getting paid over 100+ million along with the no state tax in Miami. Is that really supposed to be a pay cut? :roll:

The point is they are taking less money. Give them the credit they're due. There aren't a lot of stars willing to take a lower salary. I respect them more after hearing about this.

So that makes Joe Johnson the HIGHEST paid player in one of the NBA's most heralded free agency ever. Wow.

The lack of income tax in Miami makes up for any amount they would have lost. In fact they probably make tremendously more considering in any other state they'd be in like a 40% tax bracket. This is cosmetic to make it look like they sacrificed for winning. They got more in every single aspect going there. Quite greedy overall actually.

A little less. ~ $1m a season for James and Bosh once you factor in the benefit of no state income tax. Wade took a slightly bigger hit.

Then again, their aren't a lot of stars who are given the opportunity to make 100+ million dollar salaries plus more through marketing,

Ill give them some credit for taking pay cuts but lets be real, they aint gonna get a hand clap from me because their still gonna make 100+ mil each and theyll easily remake their "losses" through advertising which is why its not gonna be such a big blow to them.

These guys aren't being by advised by idiots. Im sure they ran the numbers by their best financial advisers money can pay.

After Miller they will have only 4 mill left.
Not sure if that is enough for Haslem.

Thats not true. Income tax is always based on how much you earn. Youre thinking of a flat tax rate, something that has been proposed but will never exist. Think about it for example if there was some sort of flat tax rate in the nation and assume it's 20% regardless of income, do you think thats fair to tax the person who makes an annual income of $18,000 that same 20%? It's based on how much you earn.

highest flat tax is 5.3% for mass

7 states have a flat personal income tax

* Colorado - 4.63%
* Illinois - 3%
* Indiana - 3.4%
* Massachusetts - 5.3%
* Michigan - 4.35%
* Pennsylvania - 3.07%
* Utah - 5%

Great, but income tax is based on HOW MUCH YOU MAKE. Their are tax brackets. Those that make more are taxed a higher percentage in most states. Go look up New York for an example. LeBron would have been in an insanely high tax bracket in NY.

i have respect for dirk who takes less to have a slight possibility to lead his team to something. i have not so much respect for people who take slightly less to form a cartel-like juggernaut in order to gain an advantadge.

exactly, they are taking slightly less, have enough money to last time several lifetimes in luxury and you want me to give them credit cause they are trying to cheat the NBA salary system so they can have better role players around them?

Well considering there's a handful of players who should get the max, and two of these players are in the Heat, I think is a great deal for Miami and our cap space.

Players who should get max:
Lebron
Wade
Kobe
Dwight Howard

Everybody else can't get the max due to problems with productivity.
Players that used to deserve the max that still play:
Garnett
Shaq
Tim Duncan

Everybody else needs to get paid less. There's no reason Hedo should make anywhere near what Wade make. I mean c'mon Rashard Lewis? All these players are overpaid.
And anyone who thinks 15 million is not that much, don't be blind by these high numbers (110 - 130 mil). Most people can live a lifetime with 15 million dollars.

I strongly believe CP3 is worth max. He deserves it more then Dwight imo. You could argue Iverson too he was amazing maybe some people might not like his other attributes but he was a great player.
