Highest ppg averaged by a point gaurd?

Derrick Rose is more known as a scoring point gaurd than a pass-first point gaurd. People see him averaging around low to mid 20's next season and it got me thinking. What's the highest ppg a point gaurd (not hybrid pg/sg like Wade) averaged throughout a season? And how successful was their team?

Arenas averaged like 29 a few seasons ago. I think they made the playoffs that season as well.

I think Tiny Archibald still holds the record, and he was a pure point, but he did it on a below 500 team.

I think those guys are the top 3, unless you count Jerry West as a point. I'm not sure I do, but some people might.

Pistol Pete also scored in ridiculous volume and I think he did the 30 PPG a couple times, but I'm not sure if he played point or if he was more of a SG who was also a pretty good ball handler.

Tiny Archibald averaged 34 a game one year, but also 11.4 assists. Only other player to ever lead in both categories was the Big O.

I think Tiny's feat was more impressive, though, considering he was just 6'1".

another guy who I don't think counts, but he's perhaps discussable, is Charlie Scott who averaged 34.8 PPG in the ABA in 71-72. He lead his team in assists, and played some point, but he wasn't a pure point.

Maravitch, I think, played a bunch of point for the New Orleans Jazz in 76-77 and he averaged 31.1
