Talkin bout Practice

Post#1 » by SkrillaB » Fri Sep 10, 2010 10:50 pm

We all know Allen Iverson is a great HOF player. But we also know he was not about that practice. I don't know much about A.I. myself, but I assume he's labeled "selfish". Where do you think he would be if he wasn't as selfish, and practiced with the team every time, thus developing a better chemistry with his team? Basically what I'm asking is, with a better mentality, and I know he brang it 100% every game, where would have his talents placed or took him?

I'm sure this probably has been discussed before, but I also wanted to create a thread. And I must say, its exhilarating.

Top fifteen potential, I think if Allen put it all together he could've been the best player in the league at some point, and might of brought a championship to Philadelphia.

Also, Iverson had five seasons of 7+ assists, and never averaged below 4 APG.

When you dribble the ball for 90% of the time your team has possession you're going to get assists. It's pathetic he didn't get even more, actually.

By learning to plays together and making sure everyone is in their right spot so they can execute the plays with precision in a game.

By training defensive rotations to compensate for screens

A part of me loves AI for his fire and heart but its SAD that an MVP ever said that.

Compare that to Hakeem not wanting to take his trophy and wow... what a difference 7 years made.

@OP, if you gonna start a thread on AI & Practice in the same sentence, then you must link it to Press Hop. Not because it hasn't been seen, for it's possible that 99.99% of posters have seen it but just for the entertainment purposes of it. I never gets old to see/hear

Iverson had talent to do some pretty great things, but he was a "volume" shooter. He had the ball in his hands 90% of the time and that's not good when you shoot a low percentage. Also, at 6' or less, he could be posted up on defense. He had the whole city of Philly as his fandom until they turned on him much like Denver, Detroit, and Memphis did. He played hard and had the whole country pulling for him in his early years but later on something about him changed and so did people's perception of him.
