Miami is #1, did you think it would happen this quickly?

Post#1 » by ripthecord » Tue Jan 11, 2011 4:46 am

With roughly half of the season done, Miami is now the #1 team in the Eastern Conference. In the last 22 games they have won 95% of the time, most by blow-outs. (21-1)

Their record now stands at 30-9, and its only mid-way through the season. Did you think it would happen this quickly?

They can't lose again to set the all time win record.

This.

Are some Heat fans trying to make us believe that they entered the season as underdogs?

Some people were saying they would win 70+, so no, it's not surprising. Just because your team struggled early and got mocked at deservingly so, doesn't mean you automatically became underdogs.

It was implied that due to their earlier struggles no one expected them to be this good.

I'm with Jeff. They started few games of season strong.. everyone was all hyped and confident. Then the struggles and all the drama and finger pointing started and they went through a very bad stretch. Now that they are dominating people make it seem like they rose from the gutter.. and were underdogs all along when in fact preseason a lot of people were boldly proclaiming them the champs this year. Even Vegas odds had them winning the title. Some went crazy and said 72+ wins etc even.

Yes. The two best players in the league with a big man who put up 24 and 11 last year and isn't afraid to defer is going to be pretty nasty.

I think the heat are finally hitting expectations. That being the general expectations of people not on realgm. These boards crucified anyone who said the heat would gel together this fast. Funny how people forget their previous stance in order to give miami as little credit as possible.

My mistake then.. The OP isn't a heat fan even though that was irrelevant to my point. Not sure what that made up quote was about since I never engage fans about attendance (I'm a Nets fan after all) or none of that BS.

Oh STFU and learn how to read. It's obvious that was the OP's agenda.

What people!? Who are these imaginary people? This board loves the straw man argument.

I don't need to attack the OP I already countered his original post.. wish you'd do the same instead of adding absolutely nothing to the conversation.
