Grantland is still a ESPN project. Just instead of it only being Simmons, it's Simmons and other writers talking sports and pop culture.

Like someone here said, it can only get better.

Doris Burke - She knows some basketball and really isn't that bad. Rarely jock rides, doesn't go rambling about Lebron or Wade or Rose or Howard's "greatness" every 3 seconds.

Mullin - Knows basketball but best serve as an analyst in studio. Who will watch any half time show consisting of Scott, Wilbon and Barry?

Brown - Great commentator. Clearly knows what he's talking about. Very insightful.

Wilbon and Barry - God no. I'd rather not watch any more ESPN basketball than to sit through their commentaries.

Simmons - 2 endless hours of Celtics basketball... I like the things he write but I'm doubtful as to him being a good commentator.

Shaq - who cares? He's going to be funny and you know that.

Therefore, Shaq takes the title.

They probably could just take recordings of Mark and just have some dude play his recordings. "Hand down man down". Gonna miss that.

Promote Hubie of course.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Best option if you're trying to slit your wrists during the broadcast? Definitely agree.

Go with Bill Simmons. He's straight up comedy...and knows his ****. If not him, then I definitely wouldn't mind Shaq.

But Doris Burke? My dog just vomited from me reading your post out loud.

Burke is reasonable, unbiased, way better than Mark Jackson. Unlike the others there are no glaring flaws. Face it, the other guys can be annoying. Simmons is funny a lot of times, a Celtics homer other times, and sometimes when his jokes miss, annoying.

Mostly though I think Burke + JVG is a good combo, potentially. She did fine with Hubie, when talking about basketball but they aren't on the same page with personality. JVG and Burke are capable of light humor. Seriously I do not really see anything wrong with her other than most of the other people on the job might change their personalities around a woman (but not JVG lol).

Burke is rock solid. Nobody is offering any concrete reasons against her, they feel threatened beacuse she's a woman.
