Lebron will be remembered as a great ECF performer, but not a great Finals performer. Let's first take a look at his ECF resume:
06-07 ECF: Lebron takes over games 3 and 4 in the fourth quarter and then has his legendary game 5 against the Pistons in order to power his team to the Finals. Great ECF performance, especially considering what little he had to work with in the way of a supporting cast.
08-09 ECF: Despite his team losing, he put up 38/8/8 on nearly 49% shooting, in addition to that miraculous game-winner. If his teammates had actually stepped up when necessary and provided him the help necessary to win the series, this would've been remembered as a historically great ECF performance for Lebron. Instead, it ended up being a performance that tends to be overlooked.
10-11 ECF: I don't think I need to refresh anyone's memory here.
So basically, Lebron will be remembered as a poor Finals performer and a great conference finals performer.
Now, it's time to let the flow of people A. Trying to discredit Lebron's ECF successes as much as possible B. Trying to exaggerate Lebron's Finals failures as much as possible and C. Trying desperately to criticize Lebron in as many ways as they can begin. Have fun.

Re: Lebron: Great ECF performer, but not great Finals perfor
People aren't really remembered as "great Conference Finals performers".
They are remembered as "great Finals performers", though. Or in this case, "poor Finals performers".
