Boozer gets a pass compared to Amare/Bosh?

Post#1 » by Neslo » Tue Jul 19, 2011 8:25 pm

I read more than I post...but can someone explain why Amare Stoudemire and Chris Bosh are often bashed yet Carlos Boozer rarely gets blamed for his poor play? Isn't he supposed to be an 'integral' part of his team?

We're talking about a guy who couldn't defend a chair. Chris Bosh CLEARLY dominated and outplayed him during the Heat-Bulls series. Boozer had one good game the whole series, and even in that one Bosh destroyed him. His numbers are empty. He'll score 20, and give up 25.

Boozer was also having trouble during the Hawks and Pacers series.

The year before it was Gasol and Odom taking turns punking him.

He's undersized, at just under 6'8" without shoes. He gets injured a LOT, doesn't play any defense, and has a knack for having his shot rejected. His flaws are clear as day yet nobody really ever brings them up.

Boozer was criticized, where where you?

Boozer wasn't defending Chris Bosh during the Heat series.

He's really a good mid-range shooter and pick and roll player. To me Rose can't run offense like Williams can. It's hard to determine wheter it's Rose, Thibs or Boozer fault though. I'm not a big fan of score first PG's unless it's Tony Parker. Overall atm I think Deron and Sloan just did better job involving Boozer.

Both of those were on Carlos Boozer's poor rotations. It's not just the man-to-man defense which I am talking about but his court awareness as a whole. I mean, at least TRY to contest.

If Boozer had stepped it up even a LITTLE bit in that series the Bulls would have taken a couple more games maybe even getting a chance at winning the series. Rose needs more help.

I think most people have given up on Boozer, that's why they don't bash him.

Boozer gets bashed and he was a HUGE reason why Bulls didn't play great all of playoffs. Boozer might get a SLIGHT pass - probably because of that turf-toe he had in the playoffs. But if he underperforms this year, look for a weekly threads on the Bulls board about "Trade Boozer - NOW!!!".

Also, Bosh and Amare are/were supposed to be superior to Boozer. Boozer wasn't an all-star and not that much expected off of him anyway.

Please stop bringing Rose in here. Boozer sucked because of Boozer himself, and his injuries. He couldn't get a lift off his legs coz of that ankle sprain he had and then turf toe.

Rose set him up like million times but this guy just couldn't finish inside and routinely either missed layups or got blocked.

Bulls fans just give his injury the benefit of the doubt.

Boozer isn't held up to the same standard as those guys? I dunno. Despite his gaudy stats, I was always under the impression that he was a tier below STAT and Bosh. Think Al Jeff.

well first play he rotated good and contested, he could maybe try to foul though
to me Noah takes most of the blame here, although it was very good offensive play

2nd play he rotated good too, but failed as he gambled for ball and got owned, nice read&spin by Bosh too

2 individual plays aren't enough to support what you are trying to say.

I am not defending Boozer's D its bad everybody knows it.

However, I think scheme ( on pick and rolls they would rather have the ball given to Bosh than Wade/James driving) and Noah's poor individual D is more responsible for Bosh going off.

BTW the problem wasn't the D it was the O.

I guess everyone just is dead set on ignoring the fact that Boozer was injured.

1). Boozer gets bashed where have you been

2). Boozer was injured from the Kwame flagrant a couple months back. Look it up, it was ugly. besides, we all know how the man responds to injury.

3). He isn't really hyped up at all, he is what he is and everyone knows it.

Boozer, when he isn't injured, is a 20/10 guy with good efficiency. He's on the level of a Chris Bosh talent wise imo.

actually, the trend shows that his stats go up in the playoffs, not down.

probably due to the fact he's more fresh for the playoffs as he misses most of the regular season :D

...actually, Boozer has played 70+ games more often than not in his career.

People are really letting blind hate and preconceived notions taint their opinions

Boozer:
9 seasons played. 569 regular season games played in total.

Bosh:
8 seasons played. 586 regular season games played in total.

Amare:
9 seasons played. 594 regular seasons games played in total.

Boozer may have some of the most inflated stats in the entire league. He'll score 20, but give up 25.

Look up his stats from the Lakers-Jazz series in 2010. You would think he played incredibly well. Then look up the stats of his opposition. The same can be said for him against Tyler Hansbrough, etc
