I wonder if the NBA will not allow them to play, if they break their contracts with China and just leave their chinese team and fly back to the USA.

NBA is honoring those contracts they signed in China so no NBA team will be allowed to sign these guys.

"As a member of FIBA, the NBA needs a letter of clearance from Chinese teams to allow players to sign NBA deals. Chinese teams could face forfeiture of any games that NBA players participated in, if the players somehow end up back in the NBA before the Chinese season ends."

“They can play, get paid [in China] and return to the NBA in March,” one Chinese team official said. “Or they can not get paid, and return to the NBA in March.”

NBA teams cant do that... NBA is a member of FIBA, FIBA wouldn't give a permission to sing them since players have valid contracts with other teams...

Apparently JR went off for 52 points, 22 rebounds, and 7 steals.

i dont think anyone has doubted his talent, but wish he'd realize how special his skills are and work hard to reach his potential. that box score stat is nice though.

The NBA honor foreigner contracts, besides Stern wouldn't want to spit in the Chinese Basketball after working so hard to foster basketball and NBA interest there.

Players knew what they were getting into and none of those players is so good that the NBA will miss them much. Plus they can all be back in March and the ones that are FA in the NBA will sign with playoff teams most likely.

22 rebounds! WTH, he's a shooting guard, how is that even possible?

52 points is not a shock, he can score with the best of them.

At 6'6 JR Smith probably has a bit of a combo forward role in the CBA. I guess it'd be better for the Chinese league to have some real basketball presence in their league for a while.

Mengke Bateer (Chinese player who had short stint with Nuggets, Spurs and Raptors) just recorded 16 assists in a game, and he plays center.

Shows you what level of play the Chinese league is at.
