The kid didn't seem to care about his health at all when he was interviewed a couple of days ago, said he didn't know what was wrong with him, doctors found "something" and he was just focused on getting back to practice. I read it has to do with his aorta artery being bigger than normal, the biggest and most important in the whole body, so it's better to treat it than be playing on National TV and drop dead in the middle of a play.

Posey is one of the worst players in the NBA. Celtics will find this out when he works out for them.

I've followed Jeff Green and Roy Hibbert since they were at Georgetown. I hope he gets better and can comeback at 100%.

Was this necessary?

As a Knicks fan, I was looking for some friendly competition, but this is a huge blow to the Celtics. Get well soon, Jeff.

An aneurysm is very serious.. if it wasn't found it could have burst at any moment and the chances of surviving that isn't very good.. Hope he gets well soon

Life is a lot bigger than basketball. I'm glad he's in a position to get the care he needs. Hopefully he can make a full recovery and live a long, healthy life.

Wish him good health.

On a side note does anyone know how this would not have been found before? Or is it something that just develops really quickly?

He won't be getting paid during this time either, since Ainge voided his contract.

I agree that thank god he found it. Judging from cases like Turiaf it sounds like Green's career will be OK

Also, silver lining - I'm pretty sure Green will be the starting PF on the Celtics in 2012-2013 so he'll be in a solid position to prove himself in the league and get a good contract

I was not impressed with him AT ALL last season, so I'm shocked by everyone's reactions. I was shocked as hell that the Celtics even bothered to keep him, let alone sign him to that ridiculous amount of money.

The Perk trade was horrid, and I can't believe some Celtics fans are still defending it.

Having said that, I do hope he gets better, for his sake.

Looks like that's the last time we'll Green in a celtics uniform. His contract is voided so he's now a restricted free agent and some team will give him a good amount of money.

Since it was discovered during his post-contract physical, isn't it standard for the contract to be voided?

an aortic aneurysm by 25? That's dangerous stuff. As in you're walking down the street, it bursts, and you bleed out and die stuff.

Wow, i am glad the doctors discovered it, physicals are saving lives recently.

Get well soon Jeff.

Speaking of the Perk trade, Perk would have walked away anyway this offseason because some other team would have overpaid for him. Celtics had no chance keeping him, thats why the trade happened.

Get well, Jeff, best wishes. You don't mess around with heart stuff, or aneurysms anywhere. Ticking time bomb type stuff.

That said, while m glad for Jeff the person that he addressed this, that he is no longer a Celtic and not on their books is good. He doesn't fit that roster and has limited upside, so this works out well for their retool or rebuild plans. Sucks for Jeff, but he still has enough talent to be an NBA baller and will probably find another deal elsewhere, which he deserves.
