“Lord willing, I will play again soon,” Roy wrote in a series of tweets. “Yes, I’m preparing for a comeback. I’m training daily. I’m preparing for a return next year. I appreciate the love. Hopefully I’ll be back on the floor soon. Health is good.”
When asked if he would return to the Portland Trail Blazers, Roy said it’s unlikely.
“I wish, but due to the NBA rules I cannot play in Portland until 2014-2015,” Roy tweeted. “I’m looking to return sooner. Thanks for your support. I’m fortunate to have played for such a great fan base. No matter where I play, Portland will always have a special place in my heart.”

favorite NBA player, even if he now becomes delegated to 7th man status I won't him in the league.

I'd love him in Detroit, but my guess is Chicago.
Count that baby and a foul!

I really really hope his knees will have some type of work around where he wont be putting himself in risk of ending up in a wheelchair. I hope he can be a solid 13 PPG guy off the bench. 45% shooting. Not to mention still have good court vision and clutchness is always there

A former superstar like Roy shouldn't come back to become that type of player. He shouldn't kill his body to become a fringe bench player when we all remember him as a star in this league.
Take care of your body, enjoy the days with your friends & family and play some pickup games to feed the hunger for basketball, dear Brandon.
He'd be a good addition to some staff or as an analyst in the future.

I feel really queezy about this. I walk around like Phil Jackson and my knees aren't 10% as bad as his. This is really going to affect his quality of life down the road. And for what? To play 20 min a game and be a lesser player than he once was?

This will be sad. There is no "coming back" from something like this. Sure, he could play 15mpg every two games, but he won't and he mortgaging away his future health.
