Rumor: Dwight Howard prepared to sit out next season?

Post#1 » by Tai » Mon Jul 16, 2012 3:50 pm

Jordan Schultz @206Child

A source close to Dwight Howard tells me that Dwight is fully prepared to sit out the entire 2012-13 season in Orlando.

I admit up front that I have on idea who this guy is, but I was told on a different sports community that he broke the Camby to Knicks and Lewis to Heat stories. And, if you notice his profile background, he's talking with RG3. So, take it for what it's worth.

Oh, and be prepared to have popcorn ready.

Now we can say that he's not honoring his deal. They should be able to fine him his entire year's pay + he should be reprimanded by the league too. (If he actually does this)

It's to be expected with this idiot. Only a complete douchebag would sit out a year in his prime 4 months after he opted in.

So long as he doesn't end up on the Nets I don't care what happens to him.

Desperation is a stinky cologne.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Orlando might as well let him sit out and tank.

In fairness, he has a back issue. It is quite easily acceptable for him to want to sit an entire year. As it is, he's probably not getting cleared until January. This is why I said before...if he really wanted to, his best way to scare off teams was declare that he "will not resign" and that his back "may not be healthy enough" to play this season.

Any team who have thoughts of renting him would have backed away right there and then.

Can a certain player allowed to sit an entire season if he doesn't want to play for his team anymore?

He will say he's sitting out the year for health reasons, then miraculously get better if they trade him.

Pau did it in Memphis. Not for the year but he missed a week and played immediately upon being traded.
