Looking at again maybe it's not, but it's close. I guess he dribbled at the same time he moved his foot and then did a stepback, landing on 2 feet, so probably legal.

Possibly, however the jersey is blue that led me to think it was against the Jazz in Game 4 in '98. He's done the move many times but I posted the one against Shandon Anderson on the 2nd page of this thread.

He did travel, but it's not on the stepback. He leaps off the foot that wasn't his pivot.

The quality is crap but could be either tbh, especially if another camera angle was shown. This is why I think the one vs Anderson is still a possibility.

Well, the Shandon clip is a similar move, but not the same play. Watch MJ's right foot after he pivots.

In the Hornacek clip, his right foot is forward when he makes the jump, just like in the stick figure gif, because he takes an extra step with his right foot.

In the Shandon clip, his right foot is behind when he makes the jump, because he does not take an extra step with his right foot.

Also watch his left leg as he lands in the stick figure gif and in the Hornacek gif. The left leg kicks backwards as he lands in both, but not in the Shandon clip.

Again, same move, but not the same play.

I mean, just look at it. The stick figure gif was 100% made from the Hornacek clip, same body motions, same camera angle.
