Arnold discusses Wilt's strength...

...he doesn't mention if Wilt could bench 500, but he does say some interesting thing's about how strong Wilt was.

There are legendary stories of Andre the Giants strength too. I can't help but wonder if they tried some feats of strength to see who was stronger.

Sum up is the Wilt did tricep extensions at a heavier weight than big body builder guys. Wilt could pick up Arnold with one arm. Wilt was a cheap son of a bitch.

I always knew wilt was extremely strong but i had my doubts for andre due to the fact he had a disorder but i guess he really was a strong sob.

Wilt had sex with 20,000 women. Think about how many push-ups that is... I bet Wilt had strong arms, among other things. :uhoh:

 I'm sure there are people on here that could challenge all three of them to a forearm-strength contest. Somebody's gotta wax the Heat logo...

I can't really take Wilt's stories seriously... they sound like myths.

Yeah... there is a bunch of hyperbole with all the Wilt stories... It is too bad writerman got his ass banned for being an idiot on the boards. He would be all over this topic.

Arnold holds the distinguished record of groping more women than Wilt slept with. #GOAT

Some probably are exaggerated. But then again in his high school/college years he was doing this..

One of my favourite Wilt moments, his reaction to Glen Rice beating his AllStar record for points in a qtr

Bob Lanier once told a story of Wilt practically lifting him off the floor because Bob was rough housing Wilt a little too much for his taste. Anybody who seen Lanier in his playing days knows he was a big dude, for Wilt to even lift that man tells you how strong he was.

The biography of Andre the Giant is both fascinating and hilarious. Even in the intro you have a guy telling a story of Andre flipping a car on its side with four people inside. I don't have a hard time believing a guy that was 7'4", 500+ pounds could do that.

The stories of his drinking are also incredible. His entire life was incredible.

Um.

He could bench 500. I'd bet on it.

If what Arnold says is true about him doing 70% more than the body builders, than Wilt could do 500 on a bench.

I don't do too far from half that much, and guys of a taller size have a strength plateau advantage, so I can definitely see Wilt doing 500 with all of the stories. Somewhere, there's footage of Dwight doing 350 or so.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

500 pound bench press is absolutely believable, to be honest. There were a couple of guys who could bench that since 1950, and of course it's a pretty common feat today, almost every other body builder, or strong man can bench 200 kg, which is around what, 460 pounds? Only problem is, if you are tall, even at like 6'3, 6'4, you're usually not a good bench presser, because you have long arms, and that's a huge disadvantage, when it comes to bench press. So imagine that with Wilt... :o

It's not hard to imagine Wilt picking up Arnold like a fly when you compare their sizes
